This collection, collected and donated by Hudson resident Willam E. Kline, documents the activities of The Playhouse in Hudson, NY during its heyday in the first quarter of the 20th century. The collection contains two scrapbooks and 42 programs from live performances (including dance, music, vaudeville, plays, and musicals) and movie screenings, dating from 1917 to 1926. Many of the programs represent shows put on by the Hudson Elks’ Minstrels, who performed annually for some consecutive years. The scrapbooks also include ephemera related to the final years of World War I, such as a program for “Soldiers Homecoming Celebration” at The Playhouse on Sept 9, 1919, newspaper clippings, and a pamphlet explaining War-Savings Stamps from 1917.

The papers, which date from the 1950s to the 1990s, also include Pearce's military service, his involvement with the Philosophers' Club, his long history in public television, and his passion for Native American culture, which can be seen in his work with the Friends of Ganondagan and the Native American Public Telecommunications. Pearce is the recipient of two Peabody Awards.

William Paterson Van Rensselaer (1805-1872) was born to General Stephen and Cornelia Paterson Van Rensselaer in the Manor House in Albany, New York. Van Rensselaer became an attorney, and married twice, having nine children. This collection includes correspondence, property records, financial records, and estate records.

This collection consists of family letters of the members of two families: the Meads of Albany and the Wilsons of Elizabethtown, New Jersey, covering the years 1824-1870, with a 1930 letter to Alice Duer Miller, a noted author, who was a descendant of both families. Miller wrote a brief history of both families, which is included in the collection.

Winifred Goldring (1888-1971) was born in Kenwood, New York, and eventually became the New York State Paleontologist, working at the New York State Museum. This collection contains biographical materials, correspondence, photographs, and publications.

The earliest reference to the Winne family in the Albany area is Adam Winne, son of Peter, who, according to Records of the People of the Town of Bethlehem, was a farmer who owned a parcel of property in Rensselaerwyck. The Works Progress Administration was a federal relief project of the Great Depression era. The Writer' Project provided work for people involved in creative or administrative work by doing writing and or research heavy tasks. The Place Names project involved cataloging and documenting the origins of place names. Materials in this collection include half-sheets of paper with geographical information. They record geographical, political, historical, and geological facts for the counties of Allegheny, Chemung, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, and Yates, and their towns, cities, and villages. The materials date from the late 1930s.

This collection of 774 World War I posters and magazine ads was collected and donated by Cuyler Reynolds (1866-1934).

The collection includes the works of various artist during WW1 on posters of various sizes and detail. The collection includes a lot of posters from organizations like the Y.W.C.A, American Red Cross, and Edwards & Deutsch. The collection also includes a lot of representation from artists James Daugherty, W.T. Benda, Haskell Coffin, James Montgomery, and Howard Chandler Christy. Many of the posters reflect the ideals of the people who made them, highlighting their thoughts on third party bonds, sexism, the recruitment of women and teenage girls, and donations toward weaponry.

The majority of the contents of this collection are letters the Wells Canteener women sent home from abroad. The remainder of the collection contains newspaper articles which describe their work and living conditions, as well as the article entitled The Y Girl in the Leave Area.

The Zwack and Sons Funeral Home was established in 1894 by John Zwack. In the beginning the business name was Zwack Funeral Home. Then in 1916 his son joined the business changing the name to Zwack & Son Funeral Home, then his other son (Raymond) joined the business, and they changed the name to Zwack & Sons Funeral Home. At some point in time, possibly between 1990 and 2010 the Zwack Funeral Home was taken over by the Scott & Barbieri funeral Home chain , but they continue to keep their original name. This collection contains bills receipts, cemetery plot deeds, and receipt confirmation cards.
