The collection includes a lot of posters from organizations like the Y.W.C.A, American Red Cross, and Edwards & Deutsch. The collection also includes a lot of representation from artists James Daugherty, W.T. Benda, Haskell Coffin, James Montgomery, and Howard Chandler Christy. Many of the posters reflect the ideals of the people who made them, highlighting their thoughts on third party bonds, sexism, the recruitment of women and teenage girls, and donations toward weaponry.

Biographical / Historical:

World War One was the first major war to involve multiple European nations (Great Britain, France, Italy, Russia, Ottoman Empire, Germany, etc.) of such magnitude. The world witnessed an intense battle between the Allied and Central Powers after the assassination of the Archduke of Austria, Franz Ferdinand. The war spanned over four years 1914-1918 and resulted in 41 million civilian and military casualties.
