Haire, Bill
Mary Adrienne Steckling Coen (1934-2006) graduated from Parsons School of Design's Fashion Design Department in 1958. In 1966, "Adri" --her professional name-- created her own line, designing under her own labels for the rest of her career. The records document Adri's professional life, with items arranged by year and season. Includes clippings and tear sheets, photographs, press kits, sketches, swatches, and video recordings.

Harbutt, Charles
Charles Harbutt taught photography at Parsons School of Design from the early 1990s until his death in 2015. He served as the president of the photographic cooperative Magnum twice, and his work appeared in many publications and exhibitions. The collection consists of material created and assembled by Harbutt for his Parsons classes.

Auricchio, Laura
Laura Auricchio was an art history professor at The New School, 2002-2019, who also served in several administrator roles. This born-digital collection consists of course materials and administrative records from her tenure as a faculty member and administrator, primarily in the roles of chair of humanities for the Schools of Public Engagement and dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies.

Cohen, Marc M.
Michael Kalil (1943-1991) was an interior architect, philosopher, educator and artist, known for his innovative work with new materials and for humanizing digital technologies. From 1981 to 1991, he was the principal of Kalil Designs/Kalil Studio, a firm that specialized in high-profile commercial, prototype and theoretical, and residential design commissions. Kalil also served as an adjunct faculty member at the Parsons School of Design. The collection includes Kalil's personal and professional papers, including original artwork, sketchbooks, journals, photographs, project records, architectural drawings, photoprints and sketches, design prototypes, and posthumous materials.

Simons, Hans, 1893-1972
This collection encompasses material related to the overall administration of The New School from 1928-2008. It includes reports, financial papers, board of trustees meeting agendas and minutes, and documents prepared for accrediting by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The bulk of the files date from the late 1940s-early 1960s and the 1990s-2000s. Of note is "The New School Study" of 1952, also known as the "Swift Report."

This record group consists of photographic records created, commissioned and compiled by The New School's Communications and External Affairs office. The prints, negatives, and digital image files largely cover the 1980s through the early 2000s. Includes images of campus facilities, faculty and administrators, Parsons School of Design classes, the Parsons fashion critics awards, commencement ceremonies, and guests on Inside the Actors Studio.

This record group documents the activities of the New School's Communications and External Affairs (CEA) office, one of the university's largest administrative units. CEA was the successor administrative unit to the New School Publicity Office, and the New School Communications Office, respectively. The bulk of materials here date from the late 1990s through 2013, and includes digital photographs, printed publicity samples, posters, and project files consisting of analog and digital records from the Design and Publications Office of CEA. Access is being provided to this partially processed record group. In the absence of a collection guide, please consult with an archivist for further details. Please note that requests for files stored on digital media will require extra time to access.
