Almanac Collection, 1812-1938 0.56 Cubic Feet
This is an artificial collection consisting of 65 almanacs published in the vicinity of Rochester, New York between 1812 and 1938 (accession 2020.011). An additional group of 47 almanacs donated by the Honeoye Falls-Mendon Historical Society (accession 2021.018) was added to the collection in 2021. The almanacs in the original collection have been housed individually in acid-free envelopes. They are arranged in chronological order. The Honeoye-Falls-Mendon donation consists of almanacs mostly bound together with simple chain stitching. The have been wrapped as a group and placed in a box.

Robert A Badger was the vice-president and treasurer of Curtice Brothers Company and president of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce (1906). His papers in this collection date between 1891 and 1926. They consist of correspondence. His wife, Ella Louise Smith Badger, is represented by her childhood diaries. Their daughter, Lois Badger, is represented by material on her travels, writing and charitable donations.

This collection comprises records of and related to the Brown's Race Commissioners between 1880 and 1910. It comprises two bound volumes, one of meeting minutes and the other a New York State Supreme Court decision regarding water rights on the race.
These records document the activities of the Burroughs Audubon Nature Club of Rochester, the oldest conservation group in the area. Included are booklets, correspondence, manuscripts, newsletters, and documents related to Rochester-area native flora and fauna. Also included are a variety of glass lantern slides and 35mm slides observing various wild plants, birds, and insects in varying stages of their life cycles. The lantern slides almost exclusively focus on different local bird species and their nests. Within the lantern slides are what seems to be different series of slides mixed in with one another. The previous original series order and list are currently unavailable and the slides have been put together in numerical order by slide.
Calendar and Carrier Greetings Collection, 1828-present 1.33 Cubic Feet
This collection consists of calendars and carrier greetings dating between 1828 and the present. The carrier greetings and the majority of the calendars were produced by local newspapers for distribution to subscribers. While much of the collection was assembled for historical interest, recent calendars have largely been collected due to their image content. For example, the Erie Canalway calendars represent the winners of an annual photographic contest, and the calendars are retained as much for aesthetic reasons as for informational ones. This is an artificial collection assembled by the Local History & Genealogy Division of the Rochester Public Library.

This collection consists of 478 35mm Ektachrome and Kodachrome slides, housed in 24 slide protector pages, taken by Carlo E. De Santis in the 1970s and 1980s. A physician and architecture enthusiast, De Santis' slides depict buildings, street scenes and architectural details in the Rochester, New York area. The collection is in original order; De Santis did not have a formal arrangement for the collection outside of occasionally grouping images of the same type of building (such as churches) together.

This collection consists of materials assembled by Dr. Charles Meinert in his research on cycling in 19th century Rochester, New York. There are detailed files on two major local cycling personalities of the time - Reuben Punnet and Elsa Von Blumen. The materials date from 1869 to 1996.

Algernon was an Episcopal priest defrocked for heresy in 1906, while his wfe, Adelaide Trowbridge, was a successful businesswoman. Their daughter, Adelaide, was a noted poet before her premature death. This collection consists of their personal papers, including correspondence, publications and manuscripts. Jane went on to graduate studies at the University of Rochester and Columbia University at a time when women were beginning to achieve the goal of higher education.

This collection consists of over 10,000 postcards collected by Rochester native David "Josh" Canfield from 1966 to 2021. The extensive collection includes numerous variant printings and private issues. The majority of this material consists of historic postcards showing diverse locations in Rochester with a large quantity of the collection printed by Stecher Lithographic Company, a local business in Rochester. In addition to this, a series of modern postcards can be found which consist of advertisements, announcements and promotions.

This collection consists of materials collected by Rochesterian David Kyle through his interest in local history and employment by Gutenberg Books. The materials include several different groups of items, only some of which are retained in the final David Kyle collection. The collection includes issues of the Tool Post (Consolidated Machine Tool Corp.) from February 1943 to November 1947, a Haloid Xerox box, photographs, trade publications, ephemera and 67 postcards. Also present are a small group of papers and ephemera from Thomas Macksamie and Howard Reed; these items were salvaged by the donor from a pile of trash outside 507 Averill Avenue in Rochester and represent personal items from former residents at the address. Dated materials in this collection range between 1906 and 1968.
This collection consists of four albums compiled by by Dellon Marcus Dewey, a prolific early Rochester writer and bookseller. The albums are collections of plates or descriptive materials related to Rochester's nursery industry. Only one book is dated (1872), but all presumably come from this time period.

Dr. Alice Holloway Young was a pioneering African-American educator and administrator with the Rochester City School District and a founding trustee of Monroe Community College. This collection consists of 5 .WAV audio files containing interviews with Dr. Alice Holloway Young conducted by Christine Christopher in July and August of 2018. The interviews provide wide-ranging autobiographical information about Dr. Young.

Two scrapbooks containing clippings photographs concerning the political career of Dr. Anthony C. Scinta, a member of Rochester City Council starting in 1933. Dr. Scinta, a noted local medical professional, was a reform-oriented Democrat who emphasized the need to reform City government. He was especially interested in the reform of the City's welfare practices.
Scrapbooks and papers of Dr. Charles Forbes, a physician, scientist and inventor born in Kendall, New York. He was best known for inventing an individual communion cup, but this was only one of numerous inventions and apparatus he created. Forbes taught at Macalester College and at Columbia University, along with operating several business enterprises. The materials in in this collection include two scrapbooks, along with loose scraps and newspaper clippings regarding his inventions. These materials date between 1915 and 1917.

This collection consists of documents, photographs and other records related to Ellen Swartz's involvement in two notable Rochester public art projects. Swartz, a furniture maker, collaborated with sculptor Calvin Hubbard on a frieze of the Post family for the Hochstein School and a bust of Austin Steward for the former Rochester Riverside Hotel, both during the 1980s. Swartz produced the frame for the frieze and a base for the bust. Materials in the collection date between 1985 and 2002.

The papers document various aspects of the club's existence and activities, including lists of officers, some board meeting minutes, some financial statements, and various ephemera. The most useful item for researchers is a paper-bound volume, Genesee Dancers Rochester, N.Y., 1955–1996. Compiled by four couple-members, the volume contains year-by-year accounts through 1996 of the club's officers, committees, staff, events, successes, and issues (particularly the impact of declining membership). When the club finally shut down in May 2003, reminiscences and other summaries were generated for the final event.

George Aylesworth Scrapbook, 1911-1919 1 Volumes
This scrapbook was created by George Aylesworth, a 1911 graduate of Rochester's East High School. The scrapbook documents his graduating class and life in the years following his graduation, including elements of his relationship with his eventual wife, Elsie Duncan. It also includes some material related to his involvement with the Y.M.C.A. as a trainer.; professionally, he made his career as a draftsman. The scrapbook includes many greeting cards, calling cards and photographs. Of note is its documentation of his time in Morristown, New Jersey between 1918 and 1919, which concludes his entries in the scrapbook.

A comprehensive typescript family history written by Ms. Kingsbury rounds out the collection. Materials in the Kingsbury collection date between 1894 and 2000.
