Administrative records from the Office of the President, which guides the overall direction and leadership of the school. This collection documents major university initiatives and trends since it's beginning in the 19th century.

The Alling and Cory Company Papers consists of 11 boxes and additional flat objects of company records, the majority being photographs from the mid-20th century; business records documenting product development, and company departments; and price lists of products made by the company, and other printing companies.

This collection contains nearly 300 manuscript items related to the science of geology.  Together with over 500 rare books it is part of the Gerald and Sue Friedman History of Geology Collection.

Business and patent records of the Rumford Chemical Works, H.M. Anthony Company and Wilson Ring Company in Providence, Rhode Island.

The contents of the records convey the foundation of the Rensselaer Society of Engineers (RSE) whose roots derive from the Pi Eta Scientific Society, founded in 1866. This collection contains a copy of the 1867 minute book (obtained by Samuel Rezneck in 1968). Membership directories, the 75th Anniversary Register, and invitation memorabilia highlight the society's social life. The substantial portion of scientific papers make up the bulk of this collection.

The James Hall Collection includes correspondence, research articles and report reprints, autograph album and artifacts.

Contains 3 items: The Keepsake, a journal edited by Edmund Yardley (RPI Class of 1856); one drawing by Nicholas Chamberlain, Yardley's classmate; and one letter from Yardley to Professor Dwinel F. Thompson.

The Katharine Cornell collection, 1890-1974 contains materials about Cornell's life and legacy, collected by family and close friends. Includes clippings, articles, photographs, books, scrapbooks, and personal items formerly in Cornell's possession.

The Individual Manuscripts Collection ranges in date from the eighteenth through the twenty-first century and documents the actions of historical figures and events, principally from American History.
