David Livingstone was a Congregationalist medical missionary assigned to Africa by the London Missionary Society. The collection contains a letter written to the London YMCA and a poster of reprodutions of postcards from the Scottish National Memorial to Livingstone in Blantyre, Scotland.

Elwood G. Tewksbury was a missionary and college teacher in China. He and his wife and two sons, Donald G. and Malcolm G. Tewksbury, were besieged in the British legation during the Boxer Rebellion. Donald George Tewksbury later became a professor of Comparative Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and Malcom Gardner Tewksbury authored two textbooks on speaking Chinese. The collection contains clippings and correspondence documenting Elwood Tewksbury's ordination, missionary activities in China, and role in the Boxer Siege of Peking in 1900, as well as papers of his sons relating to China.

Erwin Hart Richards was a Congregational missionary for thirty-three years in South East Africa. The collection consists of correspondence from the period when Richards was treasurer of the Board of Foreign Missions for the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Laubach, a Christian missionary and educator who played a prominent role in world literacy by establishing the "Each One Teach One" literacy teaching method and founding the Committee on World Literacy and Christian Literature (FMCNA and NCC), World Literacy, Inc., and Laubach Literacy, Inc.

Franklin Grasson Davis was a Methodist minister from Clay, Ohio who served as a missionary in India from 1875-1884. The collection contains a diary from his time in the field.
