Aldrich, Nelson W. (Nelson Wilmarth) (1841-1915)

The papers of Nelson W. Aldrich (1841-1915), statesman, financier, and businessman, span the years 1777 to 1930, with the bulk of the material concentrated in the years 1879 to 1915. The collection is composed primarily of correspondence, printed matter, and material relating to tariff legislation and the National Monetary Commission, supplemented by diaries, notebooks, speeches, research notes, serials, financial papers, and miscellaneous items.

The 35 boxes in this series cover the years 1898-1961. The Messrs. Rockefeller, Sr. and Jr., Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, Abby Rockefeller Mauze, the five brothers, and their spouses are all represented in this series. Mr. Rockefeller, Jr., John D. 3rd, and Laurance S. Rockefeller are have the most connection to thse records.

Danzig, Jerry A.

This series covers the majority of Jerry Danzig's service as Nelson Rockefeller's Special Assistant to the Governor for Radio and Television, from 1964 to 1973. The files consist of Danzig's internal memoranda and correspondence regarding Governor Rockefeller's radio and television appearances; bills and invoices for the production, distribution, and broadcast of television promotions; and budgets and expense accounts for programs. There are also scripts and transcripts of short promotional films on Rockefeller. Additional Danzig material is also located in the New York Office series of the Nelson Rockefeller Gubernatorial Papers (III 15 22.3). While the material in this series is primarily New York State related, the material in the New York Office series deals primarily with the 1964 Presidential Campaign.

McCloy, John J. (John Jay) ( 1895-1989)

The collection includes transcripts of 12 sessions of the Proceedings of the Survey Committee on Program Review of the Ford Foundation (also known as the McCloy Committee or the Special Committee on Program Review of the Ford Foundation). The McCloy Committee met in March and April 1962 to discuss potential program goals in Education, Economics, International Relations, Science and Technology, and the Arts.

Rockefeller during his two last terms as Governor of New York (1967-1973) and during his service as Vice President of the United States (1974-1977). This collection contains the speeches and press releases that Persico wrote in this capacity. His personal papers and writings are at the New York State Archives in Albany.
