Elisha Dorr (1764-1843), was born to Matthew and Elizabeth (Palmer) Dorr in Lyme, Connecticut. He was the first member of the Dorr family to reside in Albany, New York, where he arrived as a young man and dealt in the fur trade. Dorr was also involved with the First Presbyterian Church, alongside his wife, Elizabeth Brouer (1776-1837). This collection contains correspondence, legal documents, clippings, and receipts.

Also included is the correspondence and diaries of Lieutenant George Wait Goodwin U.S. Air Force, who was killed in France in 1918, and Edward S. Goodwin, Albany physician, Helen Goodwin Yale, and Louise Goodwin, who were all children of Scott Dumont Goodwin. This collection includes correspondence, diaries, accounts, and legal papers.

The Hun family were descendants of 17th century Dutch settlers who became prominent and acquired property in and around the Albany area. This collection includes family papers.

Adam Blake, Jr. (1830-1881) had a well-established career in the hotel industry prior to having the Kenmore Hotel built in 1878. The adopted son of a man who had been enslaved, Adam worked his way up in the hotel industry, and eventually opened the Kenmore, for which he spared no expense. Although Blake died before he could long enjoy the fruits of his labor, the Kenmore continued for many years, and was eventually purchased and renovated into luxury apartments.

Leonard Gansevoort, Jr. (1754-1834) was a lawyer, served the American cause during the Revolutionary War, was a member and later secretary of the Albany Commissioners for Detecting and Defeating Conspiracies, and served on Albany Council Committees for many years.

Mary Palmer Calverley Byrne-Ivy (1870- ) was a singer, pianist and voice teacher. Mary's father was Charles Calverley, an artist who served as an assistant to Erastus Dow Palmer for a time in Albany, New York.

George and Anna Menges lived at 68 Bassett Street, Albany, New York. The collection consists of an assortment of receipts, notes, letters, and other household documents dated between 1898 and 1944.

Paul Cushman (1767-1833) was a potter and pottery owner in Albany, New York. This collection includes legal documents, correspondence, bills, and writings.

Teunis Van Vechten (1785-1859) was a prominent Albany, New York, attorney, trustee and director for numerous Albany organizations, and served as the mayor for four terms. This collection includes receipts for goods and services, business letters, real estate insurance policies, legal agreements, real estate transactions, a copy of a summons and complaint in Saratoga Supreme Court.

William Christian Bouck (1786-1859) was from Schoharie County, New York. He became a politician, serving as Sheriff of Schoharie County, terms in the New York State Assembly and New York State Senate, on the Erie Canal Commission, and as Governor of New York. He also served in the militia in New York’s 18th Regiment and rose to become Colonel. This collection includes correspondence, financial records, legal records, and photographs.

The earliest reference to the Winne family in the Albany area is Adam Winne, son of Peter, who, according to Records of the People of the Town of Bethlehem, was a farmer who owned a parcel of property in Rensselaerwyck. This collection contains legal documents, financial records, personal papers, and ephemera.
