Harry Gove papers 7 Linear Feet
The Harry Gove Papers include three series: Activism; Career and Leisure Activities; and Publications and Clippings Collected by Gove. The first series, Activism (1965-1971), consists primarily of Friends of FIGHT and Metro-Act materials such as meeting minutes and information about initiatives. This series also includes Gove's own notes from his involvement. The second series, Career and Leisure Activities (1955-1971), includes a limited number of notes and tests from Gove's work as a professor at the University of Rochester as well as records of events at the University, some of which relate to activism. It also contains materials from Gove's leisure activities in Rochester, Canada, and abroad. The third series, Publications and Clippings Collected by Gove, consists largely of news clippings from the late 1960s and early 1970s, including those Gove assembled into two scrapbooks. A larger scrapbook includes news articles related to FIGHT and Metro-Act from 1969-1971. The pages of a smaller scrapbook include news articles on police action in Rochester during the summer of 1970.
The collection includes correspondence and notes, and the manuscripts of his published and unpublished books, articles and addressee. The collection has been expanded with the acquisition of photographs, photographic glass plates, scrapbooks, additional notes, miscellaneous papers and memorabilia.The final additions to the Fairchild papers were made after the Professor's death, when his wife gave the residue of his personal papers to the Library.

The collection consists of four boxes of miscellaneous biographical material from early education through Plutzik's years as a professor at the University of Rochester; four boxes of correspondence; twelve boxes of manuscripts of poetry, published and unpublished; three boxes of manuscripts of critical essays and fiction; eleven boxes of lectures, exams, and miscellaneous material from courses he taught at the University of Rochester; two boxes of material from poetry recitals and public lectures; and two boxes of miscellaneous academic and departmental materials.
The papers consist of two volumes of typescripts of Dr. Hoffmeister's speeches, convocation addresses, commencement addresses, radio talks, writings, etc., from 1934 to 1960. At the beginning of each volume there is a table of contents.
