Field notebook for RPI's Junior Class Hydrographic and Topographic Survey, kept by Adolph Kohlhofer, Class of 1912. The notebook includes sketches of surveys, tide gage readings, level notes, notes on the Hudson River, various computations, and related information. Kohlhofer also listed the surnames of other students who worked on both surveys with him.

Handwritten notebook on philosophy and alchemy signed by the writer, only known as Chaudes. The entire notebook is written in French, except for some drawings at the end, which are described in Latin. The drawings appear to depict how water and oil droplets respond to different materials, like dirt, coal, sulfur, and ash.

Ambrose V. Powell's (RPI Class of 1868) diary, dated 1865. Powell describes his college experience as a student at Rensselaer, and writes about news of the Civil War. The most noteworthy diary entries describe Powell's reaction to President Lincoln's assassination, how the city of Troy mourned the passing of the President, as well as mentioning his visit to Albany to view President Lincoln's casket.

RPI Professor Edward R. Cary's "A Short Lecture Course on the Construction of Diagrams for The Div. B - C.E. Students at R.P.I." Cary was RPI Professor of Surveying and Railroad Engineering, and his typescript lists the kinds of diagrams presented in the course, such as comparison and conversion diagrams, alignment diagrams, and logarithmic diagrams.

Log book containing records of the Port Henry Blast Furnace in Mineville, Essex County, New York (1840-1859) and the Sisco Furnace in Westport, New York (1857-1859).

This leather bound notebook, kept by Burton Lowther, Rensselaer Class of 1901, titled "Level and Transit," contains student survey notes and level charts about various places in Troy, New York, such as Congress Street, the Post Office, and 8th Street.

This student notebook, kept by Charles D. Curtiss, Rensselaer Class of 1855, contains lectures in spherical trigonometry, compass surveying, and notes on Curtiss' investigation of logarithms. This notebook also includes financial accounts of the Potsdam Watertown Railroad in 1853, and notes regarding RPI's 1853, 1854, and 1855 commencements.

This photo album, kept by David E. Reader (RPI Class of 1927) depicts Reader and his college classmates, campus scenes and buildings, and RPI events, such as tug of war and the Push Ball Rush.
