Rush Rhees Library Addition Material includes correspondence, specifications, notes, and other documentation related to the planning, design, and construction of the 1970 addition. A thick folder of proposals, cost estimates, and correspondence relating to the renovations made to Rush Rhees Library in 1971-72 can be found in Box 6. Box 7 contains a scrapbook compiled by Augusta Hoeing, widow of Professor Charles Hoeing, who had donated $25,000 for a garden court in memory of her father, Calvin C. Laney, Rochester's first superintendent of parks.

The Louise McIntosh Slaughter congressional papers, 1974-2018, comprise her entire career, reflecting committee and legislative work, including her interactions with staff members, other politicians, business executives, other stakeholders, and New York constituents. From 1971 to 2018 she participated in several efforts to improve communities through advocacy and leadership; the collection contains the documents produced during those years, including newspapers clippings, campaign materials, correspondence, press releases, state and federal reports, staff briefs, and the reference and research files. As much as this material might be gleaned to reproduce Slaughter's work and politics, this collection also documents the varied resources and research materials compiled by her staff members (chief of staff, legislative aides, etc.) to inform her about the issues and events of the day. The staffers' files are revealed mostly in the briefing books—generally include correspondence between Slaughter and her colleagues, newspaper clippings on closely linked topics and events, printed materials accessed from online sources like LexisNexis, fact sheets, copies and drafts of bills, and handwritten notes and peer reviewed journal articles.
The three manuscript volumes of Margaret Holahan's diary cover the years 1923-1925. She describes in great detail an active social and family life. She keeps the diary until one week before her death on June 23, 1925.
The collection includes correspondence, reports, and printed material relating to Folsom's career in business and government. Subjects include creation, passage, and implementation of the Social Security Act of 1935 and amendments to it; unemployment insurance plan of Eastman Kodak Company, 1920's and '30's; Rochester Civic Plan on Unemployment, 1930-34; New York State Advisory Council on Placement and Unemployment Insurance. Also U.S. House of Representatives Special Committee on Postwar Economic Policy and Planning (Colmer Committee), dealing with reconstruction in Europe, 1944-46; National Advisory Board on Mobilization Policy, 1950-53; U.S. Treasury Department, with emphasis on taxation and social insurance, 1953-55. Additional subjects are Committee for Economic Development, and its Committee for Improvement of Management in Government, whose report on presidential succession resulted in a constitutional amendment; and other advisory councils, commissions, and conferences. Other material relates to University of Rochester, calendar reform, and higher education in New York State and in the South. There is correspondence with Dwight D. Eisenhower, Kenneth B. Keating, Oveta Culp Hobby, Nelson A. Rockefeller, and Lyndon B. Johnson; a transcript of an interview with Josef Stalin, 1945; and Folsom's scrapbooks and speeches.
This collection is composed of correspondence among members of the Markham family, who were one of the first families to settle in the Genesee Valley region of New York State. There are over 1720 letters here, which span three generations of Markhams from 1821 through 1907. These family letters reveal the daily occurrences as well as the personal, social and business concerns which influenced their lives.
