The Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) offers scholars and students a vibrant research and learning environment. We collect, preserve, and provide access to materials that document the history of our global society, including original manuscripts, photographs, architectural renderings, industrial design prototypes, graphic artworks, audio and moving image recordings, and much more. Today, the SCRC’s collections total approximately 150,000 printed items and over 30,000 linear feet of archival material in 2,400 separate collections, as well as the holdings of the renowned Belfer Audio Archive and the University Archives. Together, these collections offer unfiltered access to primary source material, the “authentic voice” of a writer or creator, from which scholars and students can develop their own views and create their own narratives.

Papers of the American poet, educator. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Winner of the James Joyce Award, 1966. Biographical material, correspondence (1918-1963), memorabilia, and writings, which includes poems (1916-1966) both by Lieberman and by others. Also included is a manuscript by James Huneker that may be a book review. Correspondents include William S. Braithwaite, the Century Company, Charles Scribner's Sons, Maria Catarina Lombard, James H. McCormick, Piney Woods Country Life School, Karl Schmidt, Samuel Shipman, James S. Taylor, University of Buffalo's Lockwood Memorial Library, University of Kentucky's Margaret I. King Library, and Stephen S. Wise.

Three holograph hymns for children, two holograph copies of a poem, an undelivered 1857 letter to Napoleon III requesting the pardon of Victor Hugo, and three pages of notes (photocopies). Also, a centenary publication which marked Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s 1846 marriage registration.

Papers of the American author, journalist, and editor. Two signed holograph poems and two signed holograph essays. The poem "A Song of the Christmas Wind," some lines of which also appear in the untitled manuscript in the collection, was printed on December 26, 1885 in "Sharps and Flats" (the newspaper column Field contributed to the Chicago Morning News editorial page from 1883-1895).
