The New School Archives and Special Collections provides primary source materials that document the histories of all divisions of The New School, as well as work created by its extended community. The Archives also holds material not directly connected to New School history, with particular strengths in 20th-century fashion, interior, and graphic design practices.

Mannes College The New School for Music
The New School Archives staff created the Mannes College of Music administrative records collection by integrating several collections documenting the Mannes College of Music (now, Mannes School of Music). The collection includes correspondence, event flyers, photographs, legal records, meeting minutes, illustrations, administrative records and reports.

This collection contains documentation of The New School Archives, established in 2012, and its predecessor, the Kellen Design Archives (also known as the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Archives Center). Wendy Scheir became director of the Archives in 2008, taking over from Xenophon T. Barber. The records cover both directorships and relate to Archives exhibitions, publicity, collecting, preservation, strategic planning, and grant applications. Also included are photographs of the Archives space and staff.

This collection consists of administrative records produced by Parsons School of Design administrative offices, including Admissions; the Board of Governors; Career Services; Human Resources; Student Services; and the Development Office, including Alumni Relations and External Partnerships. The contents primarily comprise printed promotional materials, directories and lists, with a small amount of photographs and email correspondence.
