Also included is heresy material relating to Briggs' trial before the Presbytery of New York, 1892, and record of trial proceedings.

Gillett, Charles Ripley, 1855-1948
Charles Ripley Gillett (1855-1948) was a Presbyterian minister and Union Theological Seminary librarian. The collection contains writings produced during his roles as librarian and occasional instructor at Union and in his secretarial capacity with the New York Presbytery, notes and drafts of his history of Union Theological seminary, as well as correspondence pertaining to his academic and personal affiliations and his investment in heretical trials of the day.

Park, Edwards Amasa, 1808-1900
Edwards Amasa Park (1808-1900) was a Congregational minister, theologian, and professor at Andover Theological Seminary. The collection contains bound volumes of Park's lectures, transcribed and with manuscript notes by Henry Albert Stimson, as well as outlines of lectures on theology with manuscript notes by Zephaniah Moore Humphrey and Stimson's notes on Henry Boynton Smith's lectures at UTS.

Frederick John Foakes-Jackson (1855-1941) was an Anglican minister, church historian, dean of Jesus College Cambridge (1895 - 1941), and Briggs Professor of Christian Institutions at Union Theological Seminary (1916-1934), Emeritus (1934). The collection contains correspondence, sermons, personal notes, biographical records, a notebook, and memorabilia reflecting Jackson's academic life during his time at Union Theological Seminary and the impact of his death.

Reverend Paul Edwin Spiecker was a Union Theological Seminary student and Methodist minister, and Pastor of Trinity Church in Stony Point, NY. The collection contains manuscript and typescript notes for term papers and lectures at Union Theological Seminary, as well as booklets from the NJ Temperance Society, The Scientific Temperance Federation Bulletin from 1938, and a booklet on "Alcohol Problems Visualized" published by the National Forum.

Hastings, Thomas S (Thomas Samuel), 1827-1911
Thomas Samuel Hastings was a Presbyterian pastor of New York City and professor and president of Union Theological Seminary. The collection consists of correspondence, writings, and scrapbooks relating to activities of the seminary and the debate concerning the Presbyterian Creed. Included in the collection are also a notebook of his father, Thomas Hastings (1784-1872), and a travel diary that may be of his son, Thomas Hastings (1860-1920).
