He primarily discusses his military experiences in the Russo-Japanese War, World War I, and the 1917 Revolution. He also describes his travels to the United States, England, and the Far East on various naval vessels and his service as naval attache in London from 1896-1898. The related materials include an essay about Grigorovich by A. de Loukine, two letters discussing the Grigorovich and Loukine manuscripts and an unsigned essay entitled "LʹOubli" which concerns Grigorovich.
