This collection, consisting of original art, process materials, prints, books, and journals. It includes "Tabula Rosetta," issues 1-4, as well the original art for Volumes I and III. Original art for other works includes "Aria," "Aquarius," "Socially Awkaward Funnies," "Soul Deleter," and "Triage." The collection also includes instructions for role-playing games created by Reed, dream journals, poetry, and other written material. The material sheds light on Reed's own work as well as on what it means to be trans in the South.

Collection of science fiction fan-generated publications (zines), science fiction convention material, clippings, photographs, and assorted other ephemera. Originally 12 linear feet, all of the zines have now been cataloged and only a few items remain in the manuscript collection.

The collection contains a set of illustrations made by the artist Serge Czerefkow in 1927 for Anatole France's THAÏS. They were made for the Paris publisher Ren'e Kieffer. Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs and subject files of Witte. The correspondents include Ivan S. Aksakov, Tsar Aleksander III, Tsar Nicholas II, Konstantin P. Pobedonost︠s︡ev, I︠U︡riĭ Samarin, Lev N. Tolstoĭ and Kaiser Wilhelm II. The manuscripts, which constitute over half of the collection, consist of Witte's memoirs and of his work on the Russo-Japanese War, and include a signed typescript essay by Lev N. Tolstoĭ. The photographs depict the signing of the Portsmouth Treaty ending the Russo-Japanese War (Portsmouth, N.H.). The subject files, which are primarily typescript copies of documents, refer to such topics as the various assassination attempts on the tsars, questions of agrarian reform, relations with Germany, and the siege of Port Arthur. There is also a framed pen and ink drawing depicting an event in Witte's public career.

Correspondence and manuscripts. The collection includes manuscript drafts and typescripts of two volumes of his autobiography: THE OLD CENTURY AND SEVEN MORE YEARS, 1938; and THE WEALD OF YOUTH, 1942. There are also 13 volumes of early notebooks for the period 1894 until 1909 (from age 8 to 22) containing drafts of over 200 poems, 19 short stories and many drawings. There is some correspondence about the autobiography. Also includes 21 letters from Arnold Bennett, 51 letters from Lady Ottoline Morrell, 26 letters from H.M. Tomlinson, 19 letters from Sassoon to his mother-in-law, Lady Gatty, 22 letters from Sassoon to his son, letters from many others, and a typescript of his poem "A love affair" with holograph note

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, and printed materials of Baroness Sofii︠a︡ I. Taube, writer and editor in Russia and the emigration who wrote under the name Sofii︠a︡ Anichkova. Among her books was "Zagadka Lenina." While in Russia before the 1920s, she edited such literary periodicals as "Skazki zhizni" and "Almanakh." There are single letters in the collection from Georgiĭ Ivanov, Aleksandr Kuprin, Petr Struve, and other writers. Manuscripts consist primarily of writings by Anichkova-Taube, including her memoirs of literary life in Petrograd in 1917-24: "Vechera poetov v gody bedstvii." Other manuscript items and drawings by other writers also concern these "poets' evenings." Also included are memoirs by her husband Emmanuil N. Taube about Czechoslovakia at the end of World War II. There are numerous photographs of Anichkova-Taube. Printed materials consist of her books, books inscribed to her, scattered issues of periodicals which she edited or in which she published, and newspaper clippings.

Correspondence, manuscript, and drawings relating to English and American literature of the 19th and early 20th centuries collected by Solton (1896-1961) and Julia (-1984) Engel. Ten letters and four manuscripts of poems by Rudyard Kipling form the largest unit within the collection. Prominent among the other items are the manuscript of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Mock Trial" and two Walt Whitman letters, a copy of R. W. Emerson's famous "Leaves of Grass" letter in Whitman's hand and Whitman's letter to Conway regarding the Emerson letter. Also included is a letter from James Fenimore Cooper to Mary Rutherfurd Clarkson Jay, wife of Peter Augustus Jay. Thirty-one of the drawings in the collection are by William Wallace Denslow and John Rae Neill and represent illustrations done for various works by L. Frank Baum. There are also two drawings of Gelett Burgess, one ot "The Goop" and the other of "The Purple Cow." Castings of the obverse and reverse of the bronze Kipling medallion commissioned by Engel in 1953 from Julio Kilenyi are stored in 2 oversize boxes. Most of the items in this collection relate to a collection of first editions which was also presented to the Libraries by Mr. and Mrs. Engel.
