A collection of sheet music of musical theater works from 1925-1955.

This collection contains documents relating to Broadway actress Gertrude Lawrence (1898-1952), a British-born international star of musical theatre and film. The collection primarily consists of correspondences, and also includes manuscripts, photographs, diaries, and a notebook from her position teaching an acting course at Columbia University.

The posters in the Harold A. Kanthor Collection of Gilbert and Sullivan are a diverse group representing advertisements for specific productions or theatrical companies. They provide a varied range of graphic design as well as a historical context for understanding the theatrical evolution of Gilbert and Sullivan productions. The posters are subdivided by specific operas, with three categories repeated throughout each opera designation: Production, Adaptation, and Film. Within each designation, posters are described in chronological order. Posters for specific operas are followed by posters generically produced for the D'Oyly Carte Company, posters for non-theatrical advertising, posters for films not produced for specific operas, and posters for other types of productions or events.

The Committee to Increase Corporate Philanthropic Giving files comprise a large part of the collection. Among the numerous individual corporations represented are the American Broadcasting Company and the Zale Company. Wien's Foundation for the Improvement of Housing Arrangements for Official Foreign Personnel has personal files for each person receiving the Foundation's benefits, guarantees for those individuals, and letters ment to solicit funds from various corporations
