Scope and Content:

Notes and research compiled by Hibbitt for a proposed book on Mary Delany and her contemporaries, the Duchess of Portland and Fanny Burney (Madame d'Arblay). Also, letters from approximately forty authors and public figures, mainly to George W. Hibbitt.

Biographical / Historical:

George Whiting Hibbitt taught at Columbia from 1926 to 1965, is the author of How to Speak Effectively and Fundamentals of Speech.
