Scope and Content:

These typescript memoirs discuss her childhood at diplomatic posts (Japan, Washington, Netherlands), and in France and Russia; and her adult life up to 1920. A great deal of attention is devoted to life in the Imperial court and aristocratic social circles.

Biographical / Historical:

Shevich was the daughter of diplomat Kirill Struve. She was lady-in-waiting at the Imperial court before the 1917 revolution. From 1917 to early 1920, when she left Russia, she lived in the Kislovodsk area with Grand Princess Marii︠a︡ Pavlovna.
