Scope and Content:

Surveys, studies, reports and manuals from 1990-1997 regarding the restoration of the Darwin D. Martin House. These items were initiated by the University at Buffalo Office of the Vice President for University Facilites and the State University of New York Construction Fund They were produced by Hamilton Houston Lownie Architects, PC.

Biographical / Historical:

The Darwin D. Martin House was purchased by the University at Buffalo in 1967 to serve as the residence of President Martin Meyerson. In 1993, the University at Buffalo, the Martin House Restoration Corporation and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation entered into the Joint Cooperation Agreement to restore the Darwin D. Martin House in an effort to fully restore the Darwin D. Martin House Complex.

Acquisition information:
The Darwin D. Martin House Restoration plans were gifted to the University Archives by Matthew Scherry of the University Facilities Document Library in July 2022 as accession 2022-043.
