- Scope and Content:
This collection includes workshop and conference proceedings, planning documentation, a doctoral program description, and ephemera.
- Biographical / Historical:
The Department of Geological Sciences was formed in 1968 as an offshoot of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. In 1996 it merged with the Department of Atmospheric Sciences to create the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. The program in Geological Sciences was suspended in 2007 and the last students graduated from the program in 2009.

- All items in this collection were transferred to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives.
