The 1909 Hudson-Fulton Celebration Collection, c. 1901-2009, contains materials and souvenirs associated with the commemorative celebration. The Hudson-Fulton Celebration commemorated the 300th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s discovery of the Hudson River and the 100th anniversary of Robert Fulton’s first successful commercial application of the paddle steamboat. The collection was created by Allen Fink and Susan Bette Fink (nee Budson). They devoted years to researching and collecting Hudson-Fulton Celebration items to create a comprehensive collection of materials telling the event's story.

The Activism at The New School oral history program, initiated in 2019, documents touchstone moments of activism on The New School's campus from the perspective of students, faculty, and staff who participated. In 1966, "Adri" --her professional name-- created her own line, designing under her own labels for the rest of her career. The records document Adri's professional life, with items arranged by year and season. Includes clippings and tear sheets, photographs, press kits, sketches, swatches, and video recordings.

This collection includes Adviser's Handbooks from the 1971/1972 academic year to the present. Handbooks are organized alphabetically and cover topics such as academic honesty, grades, majors, and studying abroad. The last few pages of some handbooks provide advisers with examples of paperwork such as "add/drop" forms, requests for an incomplete grade, and approval forms for concentrations and minors. The collection also includes some copies of handbooks that have been annotated. In addition to the handbooks themselves, some folders contain correspondence, notes, and information about University programs. Starting in the 2015/2016 academic year, handbooks were produced in electronic form only; printed copies have been included in the collection.

Ainslie Embree (1921-2017) was a leading scholar of modern South Asian history and notable for his influence on the introduction of the field into United States university curricula. He was Professor of History at Columbia University and Director of the Southern Asia Institute. The collection contains material related to Embree's scholarly work, including teaching, research, and writing and publishing, as well as some personal materials.

Correspondence, court documents, pamphlets, prison diaries, parole records, oral history transcripts, interview transcripts, memoir drafts, poems, speeches, articles, awards, certificates, diplomas, photographs, clippings and digital video document the life and death of physician and political activist Alan Berkman (1945-2009), a physician from Middletown, New York who became radicalized as a medical student while attending Columbia University’s college of Physicians and Surgeons (MD 1971). He was later involved in two robberies. The first attributed to members of the May 19th Communist Organization and Black Liberation Army. His papers also contain records relating to the reinstatement of his medical license and career after his release from prison. He was Assistant Professor of Clinical Epidemiology and Clinical Sociomedical Sciences in the Mailman School of Public Health.

Papers of Classics professor, Alan Cameron who taught at Columbia University between 1977 and his retirement in 2008. At the time of his death (July 31, 2017) he was the Charles Anthon Professor Emeritus of Latin and Literature at Columbia University. Materials in this collection include extensive correspondence files (including many with distinguished classicists), scholarly lectures, lectures given on cruise ships, course lectures, research files, unfinished and unpublished work, manuscripts for a book about Constantinople, CVs, memoirs and memorial materials.

This collection is composed primarily of correspondence, memoranda, course material, photographs, drawings and slides. The collection is broken down into personal and academic papers. The academic papers pertain mainly to Colquhoun's career as a writer and theoretician and professor at Princeton University's School of Architecture. The personal papers consist mainly of correspondences with friends and family, as well as notebooks, which Colquhoun kept from the 1940s. The visual materials (photographs and drawings) straddle the two categories. Many of the photographs were taken by Colquhoun himself, to be used later in his teaching, while the drawings consist of both student work and reproductions of works from his practice with John Miller. For the majority of the collection, Colquhoun's folder titles have been maintained and the material has been arranged chronologically. The collection is arranged into four series.

Alfred Dorn was an American poet, critic, and professor. Born in 1929 in Flushing, New York, Dorn attended New York University for his undergraduate and doctoral degrees, where he studied English Renaissance poetry. He lived and worked in New York City for the remainder of his life, teaching at Queensborough Community College and the City University of New York, participating in many poetry readings and conferences, and serving as a prominent member of many literary organizations including the Poetry Society of America and the World Order of Narrative and Formalist Poets. The Alfred Dorn Collection contains literary manuscripts, professional papers, correspondence, and personal documents and photographs.

Al Jaffee (1921-2023) was a comic artist best known for creating MAD magazine's iconic Fold-In feature. Publishing and commission contracts, correspondence, clippings, and a small amount of programs and ephemera from fan conventions and other public appearances are also included.

This collection documents the career of Allen B. Ballard as Professor of Government at City College of New York (CUNY), and Professor of History and Africana Studies at the University at Albany, SUNY. As of 2019, the archive holds approximately 260 artists' books, 200 prints, and 100 letterpress broadsides as well as 35 photographs (from the newly launched and related project, Shadow and Light).

The strength of this collection is that it documents and underscores the intricacies and endurance of beginning and operating a non-profit domestic violence shelter in New York State.
