The papers of Jacob Gitelman, which includes personal items related to his tenure as a judge and attorney and records of and papers presented to the Philosophers' Club, offer insight into a progressive thinker and social advocate who used his position to make positive changes in Rochester, a city already known for its history of reform. The papers date between the years 1936 and 1991.

Jacob "Jake" Grossberg (1932-2014) taught sculpture at Bard College from 1969 until he retired in 1996. He was also instrumental in developing and starting Bard’s MFA program and was named director of the program in 1981.

A collection of Franklin Roosevelt letters, manuscripts, and documents including twelve letters written to his mother, Sara Delano Roosevelt, of a personal nature, and 24 letters written to a business associate, John B. Shearer. Signed typescript and mimeographed copies of the first three inaugural addresses are present in the collection as well as a valuable document"Biographical Notes for the Cyclopedia of American Biography" completed in the President's holograph on August 21, 1919. The most charming letter is the one written to his grandfather, Warren Delano, on August 23, 1896, when the President was fourteen years old and traveling through Germany. The books in the collection reflect a wide range of interests including religion, poetry, and history, and all are either signed or inscribed, including the seventeen copies of the President's own writings.

This collection documents Jacob Kramer's experience in the Spanish Civil War and as a non-traditional college student. It also documents his political activism for the communist party and includes correspondence, awards, memoirs, research papers, notes, and clippings.

Spanning 1937-1971, the Jacob Lawrence Papers consist of biographical material, correspondence, artwork reproductions, writings, printed material, and memorabilia of the African-American painter, printmaker, and artist.

This student notebook is from the first computer class taught at RPI, in the Spring of 1957. It was a combined analog and digital computing course taught by Professor Nash of the Math Department. The notebook was kept by Jacob Abel, RPI Class of 1957. Contained in the notebook are homework problems and equations on a variety of topics, including cross fields, trigonometry, applied physics, and information on digital computers.

The Jacob Maus Schermerhorn family papers (1831-1908) consist of correspondence of Schermerhorn and his family, for a total of 1393 letters, which have been mounted in eight folio volumes and eight small, soft leather and paperbound notebooks detailing individual and household expenses from 1831-1840, filling 360 pages.
