This collection consists of the records of Moses and William R. Seward, father and son. Moses B. Seward was a mill owner and local political figure, while William R. was active in banking and a leading philanthropist. The collection dates from 1799 to 1901, and includes letters, bills, legal and real estate documents, a ledger book and financial records.

This collection consists of additions to the William Henry Seward papers after the main collection was microfilmed in 1981.

The papers primarily document Sewell's activities with the Overseas Development Council and consist of reports, proposals, correspondence, memoranda, conference proceedings and publications in the areas of US-Foreign Aid reform, the World Bank, IMF, and other areas of economic development interest.

The 24 boxes of notebooks and 20 boxes of card files were partly prepared for publication at the time of her death.
