Contains the financial records of Samuel Campbell throughout his career as a lawyer in New York City and into his retirement in Cherry Valley, Otsego County, NY as well as an account book of a dressmaking business. Series 1 contains the financial records of Samuel Campbell throughout his career as a lawyer in New York City and into his retirement in Cherry Valley, Otsego County, NY. Apparently in tandem with his legal profession, he owned and managed rental properties in the City. These cash, expense, and receipt books reflect financial activity of both businesses as well as domestic expenses. Series 2 contains the account book and diary of an unknown person with a dressmaking and millinery business. In addition to records of fabric, notions, and garment sales, and "lost time," it also documents dates of illnesses and deaths of 6 children, notes on the treatment of cancer, consumption and arthritis, and dates and names of boarders. Also in this series are [William Thomas] Gilbert's records of building maintenance expenses and rental income. Collection includes cash books, account books, ledgers, court ledgers, and cancelled checks from Cherry Valley, New York.

Tilden, Samuel J. (Samuel Jones), 1814-1886
Samuel J. Tilden (1814-1886) served as Governor of New York, 1875-1876, and was the Democratic nominee for the Presidency in 1876. Tilden began his career as a corporate lawyer; he served as Corporate Counsel for the City of New York, as a member of the New York State Assembly, and as Chairman of the Democratic National Convention. Monies from his estate contributed to the founding of The New York Public Library. His papers document his political and legal career and are comprised primarily of correspondence, political and legal files, financial documents, writings, speeches, and personal papers dating from 1785 - 1929 (bulk 1832 - 1886).

Contains the correspondence and personal diaries of Samuel Price. The latter describes events of a general nature and particularly life in the Jewish community in great detail in Newark (1913) and Springfield, Mass. (1913-1962). Of special interest is his extended comments on American politics, labor strikes, religion in the public schools, American military incursions in Mexico, World War I, and the Irish War of Independence.

Forman Papers contain administrative records, books, cattle and livestock papers, papers pertaining to the Cazenovia Post Office, certificates, correspondence, estate records, genealogy, Jonathan Denise Ledyard, government records, land documents, legal documents, lists, papers pertaining to the Madison County Court, John H. Oley, Richard Button Patent, slave documents, store documents, speeches and addresses, writings, and miscellaneous papers. Although the Samuel S. Forman Papers are primarily made up of business documents and papers from Forman's time as a shop owner of general stores for the Holland Land Company, and a store in Middletown Point, New Jersey. These business documents and papers include: account books and statements, ashes, bills and receipts, calculations, cashbooks, correspondence, daybooks, invoice books, ledgers, memorandums, orders for payment, petty lists, receipt books, registers, scratch books, and suppliers for Forman's stores. Some business documents and papers pertain to business dealings with specific people and organizations such as Jonathan and Samuel Forman Sr., Oneida Turnpike Road Co., the Cazenovia Establishment, the Sloop Monmouth, Jacob H. Ten Eyck, Sweet and Lovejoy, the Third Great Western Turnpike, S. Van Rensselaer, and Isaac Van Vleck.

Charles Argow Schade, a prominent Albany architect during the mid-20th Century, was born in Albany in 1910 to Catherine and William C. Schade, who was also an architect. Particularly known for his work on churches around Albany, he designed the Christian Education Building of the First Congregational Church of Albany in 1960, as well as the Freihofer Baking Plant addition in 1963. His father, William, was also a well-known designer of religious and residential properties. Two of his works were the Slingerlands United Methodist Church in 1871, and the St. Casimir’s Church Complex in Albany in 1896.
