This collection contains work produced by undergraduate students enrolled in Robert Rabinovitz's courses in the School of Design Strategies at Parsons School of Design. Courses include Product Design, Design and Management, Design Lab, and Technology and Social Interaction, among others. The student work consists largely of published book projects. Also found in this collection are syllabi and other course materials created by Rabinovitz.

Sunbeam "Sunny" Randall (1898-1993) graduated from Parsons School of Design Interior Design Department in 1951 and worked as a professional decorator. The collection includes course materials, furniture and decorative style sketches, class notes, and a scrapbook documenting Randall's art tour of Europe as a Parsons student in 1950.

Suzy Lorraine Ehrlich (1919-2006), was a New York-based fashion illustrator and product designer. The collection is comprised of 69 fashion illustrations executed in pen and ink, pastel, crayon, watercolor, and collage. It also includes two mailers advertising Milliken yarns. Some illustrations may have been executed for a class taught by Jack Potter at the School of Visual Arts.

A leather portfolio embossed with "Sydney Fromkes, 1910-1927" on the front, containing student work from the brief time Fromkes attended Parsons School of Design before his death in 1927 at the age of 17. The portfolio contains theatrical costume drawings, poems, and other writings. There are also a few clippings of pieces Fromkes wrote for "The Leveler."

Sylvia Marlowe (1908-1981) was an important mid-twentieth century American harpsichordist. The Sylvia Marlowe collection documents her performance career, predominantly through scores, many inscribed to her by composers. Additionally, photographs and textual publicity materials provide further context for Marlowe's performances and recordings.

Harpsichordist Sylvia Marlowe (1908-1981) contributed to popularizing harpsichord music and promoting new works for the harpsichord in the twentieth century. The collection includes personal correspondence, photographs, clippings and programs, contracts and wills, analog audio reels of important albums Marlowe recorded, and a set of scores of classical pieces set in contemporary popular arrangements composed for Marlowe. The collection also contains correspondence and documents relating to the Harpsichord Music Society (founded by Marlowe) and Kenneth Cooper, its director.

The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music was established at The New School in 1986 and, as of 2020, is a department within the College of Performing Arts. These records, largely compiled by former dean Martin Mueller, cover the School of Jazz from its inception to Mueller's retirement in 2016. Includes audiovisual recordings, budget and fundraising records, clippings, correspondence, photographs, publicity materials, and reports and studies. The International Association of Schools of Jazz of which Mueller was a founding member is also well documented in the records.

The Schools of Public Engagement was formed in 2011 with the reorganization of the New School for General Studies. As of 2016, the division consisted of: the Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students (BPATS); the School of Languages; the School of Media Studies; the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy; and the Creative Writing Program. The collection also holds the 1991-2008 records of the World Policy Institute. Dating largely from the 1990s until 2014, these records contain correspondence, memoranda, reports, budget and financial material, and faculty and personnel files relating to the administration and governance of the Schools of Public Engagement and their predecessor programs, departments, and schools. The New You Peer Health Advocates oral history project consists of five interviews with the founders and alumni of The New You, The New School's peer health advocacy program. The New You was founded in 2010 by Rachel Knopf Shey and Tamara Oyola-Santiago, co-directors of Wellness and Health Promotion at The New School. In 2019, Wellness and Health Promotion was eliminated and Knopf Shey and Oyola-Santiago transitioned into new roles at the university. This oral history project was undertaken on the occasion of this change in leadership in order to document the efforts and impact of peer health advocates at The New School.
