The UB Archives houses the historically valuable records of the State University of New York at Buffalo and its predecessor, the University of Buffalo (1846-1962). The Archives collects, organizes and maintains the records of UB academic departments and administrative offices, along with all university and student publications. The Archives also collects the private papers of administrators, faculty members and other individuals associated with UB.
The papers of Walter Platt Cooke, Buffalo lawyer and banker, pertain to Cooke's duties as Chairman of the Council of the University of Buffalo, 1920-1931; Acting Chancellor, 1920-1922; and Chairman of the U. B. Endowment Fund Campaigns of 1920 and 1929. As such, they reflect the development of the University during that period.
These files contain the records of the Western New York Nuclear Research Center (1959-1972), the Nuclear Science and Technology Facility (1972-1984), and the Buffalo Materials Research Center (1984-1994).
Collection of Westwood Country Club, 1945-1995, includes minutes, resolutions, correspondence, annual reports, scrapbooks and photographs relating to the administrative and leisure activities of the Country Club.
