miSci, the Museum of Innovation and Science, is a dynamic destination which celebrates science, invention, and imagination. miSci explores the area's rich technological heritage, with some of the region's finest interactive exhibits and a research archive. The miSci Archives contains manuscript collections, photographs, trade literature, and other materials relating to the history of General Electric and the impact of innovation in electricity and electronics on communication, food preparation, transportation, power generation, and medical imaging.

The collection consists of materials related to individual speaking engagements for Arthur Bueche. These folders were created and maintained by Bueche’s secretary. Each engagement received its own folder, usually containing a draft of the speech as well as related correspondence, notes and the reports from background research. The collection is organized chronologically.

The Rice Papers contains the working papers of Chester Rice, including correspondence, notes, articles, patents, publications and photographs. A small amount of the materials is biographical, and some appears to have been inserted into the collection by his family. There is also a small amount of biographical material about his father, Edwin Rice.

The Edward Smith papers include materials collected the the General Electric Engineer during the 45 years at the Research Laboratory. This include documents on his work with thyratron tubes and his lab notebooks from the 1930s.

Documents created and collected by Edwin W. Rice, jr., President of General Electric from 1913 until 1922. This collection contains multiple accessions, which include working papers and correspondence from Rice's career and personal life.

Thomson, Elihu, 1853-1937

The Elihu Thomson papers were owned by the Thomson Laboratory before being transferred to GE's Hall of History, which then merged with the Schenectady Museum in the late 90s. The original arrangement and description was performed by the Laboratory, and that order has been maintained through the collection's travels. As some point, probably at the Hall of History, the collection was placed in binder sleeves. The collection is described to the item level, divided up into small series.

Anderson, John M.

The collection contains materials collected by John Anderson during his career at General Electric, as an engineer in the Research Laboratory and as a volunteer in the GE Hall of Electrical History and the Schenectady Museum Archives. The working papers found here largely consist of correspondence, which makes up the first series. There is also a series of articles and reports written by Dr. Anderson during his time in the Laboratory
