Davis, William E.

The William E. Davis photographs include portraits, candids and informal images of Winthrop Rockefeller and his immediate family, as well as Winthrop Paul Rockefeller and his immediate family. There is a small selection of images of conferences attended by Winthrop Rockefeller. The collection also contains extensive images of Winrock Farms including buildings, crops, employeees, parties, and cattle sales and receptions.

Whyte, William Hollingsworth

The papers of urbanist, journalist, author and people-watcher William H. Whyte, which date from the mid-1940s to the early 1990s, relate primarily to his projects and research. The collection contains a vast amount of material on Whyte's work with easements as well as his various film projects. Materials on studies of pedestrian behavior and city dynamics conducted as part of the "Street Life Project", including Whyte's research on city social life as well as human and vehicular movement patterns, are also a prominent part of the collection.

Ronan, William J. (William John) (1912-)

The William J. Ronan papers consist of materials related to Ronan's years of service as Secretary to the Governor of the State of New York during Nelson Rockefeller's administration, Chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and Chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The collection contains diaries and planners documenting his daily activities as well as clippings, reports, photographs, awards, and a personal memoir.

Jacocks, William Picard (1877-1965)

The collection contains four photograph albums of Jacocks' trips to Egypt, Asia (1916-1917), Trinidad (1916), and the British West Indies (1916-1918). The photographs depict shipboard activities, the Suez Canal and Port Said; and the pitch industry, "coolies," and scenic views of Trinidad. There are a few photographs of India and Ceylon (1935) and a photograph of the American High Commissioners in India (1941). Also included are 27 lantern slides showing snail clearance from irrigation ditches and fields in Egypt (1930s).

The records of the William T. Grant Foundation span the years 1916-1999 and are comprised primarily of the Foundation's files of grantees (the bulk dating from 1970-1985) and administrative records (including annual reports and minutes) beginning in 1930. Also included in the collection are the papers of William T. Grant (correspondence, speeches and articles dating from 1916 to 1959), founder of the William T. Grant Foundation and W.T. Grant Company.
