This collection contains additions to the collection of William Channing Gannett Papers (A.G18). Mr. Gannett was a prominent Unitarian minister in St. Paul, Minn. (1877-1883) and Rochester, N. Y. (1889-1908).

Papers consist mostly of correspondence, the largest group of letters being those written to Robert Underwood Johnson (1853 - 1937), editor of Century Magazine and author. Letters to other literary figures such as Will Carleton, Henry Mills Alden and Richard Watson Gilder are also in the collection. Howell's letters mention, among other things, his publications, his affiliation with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and other organizations, and his friendship with Mark Twain.

The collection contains professional correspondence and departmental correspondence from Riker's years at Lawrence University and at the University of Rochester along with papers written by Riker, both published and unpublished, many including rough drafts and correspondence concerning revisions.The collection also contains many papers written by other political scientists who sent copies to Riker for comments. Forty-two books with marginal comments by Riker are included at the end of the collection.

The papers contain many interesting documents related to Dunn's work at Nuremberg, as well as many papers and articles he wrote throughout his career. Articles and other material related to Hess and the Third Reich were added by Frederick Dunn after his father's death.
The collection includes the Corporation Counsel papers, business and personal correspondence, and family papers of Colonel William Hubbell Emerson of Rochester, retired Corporation Counsel for the city.
