There is correspondence from friends and fellow writers of Kerouac, printed materials about Kerouac and The Jack Kerouac Conference, 1982, at the Naropa Institute (Boulder, Colorado), and five drafts of Clark's book manuscript. Among the correspondents are Carolyn Cassady, Robert Creeley, Edward Dorn, and Allen Ginsberg.

Dowden corresponded with many writers, publishers, editors, and libraries in compiling a comprehensive bibliography of Allen Ginsberg's poetry and prose, published before 1 July 1967. Among the correspondents are Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Allen Ginsberg, John Clellon Holmes, Robert La Vigne, Gerard Malanga, Fernanda Pivano, and Gary Snyder.
