Materials collected by Dr. Adeline Levine, Department of Sociology, State University of New York at Buffalo, for her book Love Canal: Science, Politics and People, published by Lexington Books in 1982. This collection includes a copy of the Quit Claim Deed, dated April 28, 1953, in which land was transferred from Hooker Electrochemical to the Niagara Falls Board of Education for the sum of $1.

Established in 1970 as an environmental information center primarily for the Western New York area, the Environmental Clearing House Organization collection was housed at the Buffalo Museum of Science and the Science and Engineering Library before being transferred to the University Archives in 1984. Included are newsletters, project files, correspondence, administrative records, and an extensive number of clippings. In 1979 the ECHO files were incorporated with those of the Environment and Energy Resource Center of Western New York.

Papers of Lester W. Milbrath, University at Buffalo political science professor, on environmental issues including Love Canal, nuclear waste at the West Valley site, and Great Lakes water quality. Collection also includes conference papers, articles and book chapters written or co-authored by Dr. Milbrath. Also files on the formation of the Environmental Studies Center at the University, including its annual reports and other publications.
