Alexia Foundation for World Peace and
Cultural Understanding
The Alexia Foundation for World Peace and Cultural Understanding Collection contains materials related to the organization founded by the parents and mentor of Alexia Tsairis, one of thirty-five Syracuse University students killed in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. The Alexia Foundation awards grants and funding to professional and student photojournalists, and is committed to furthering the cause of world peace. The Bannister Family Papers are comprised of the photographs and captions created by Emma Bannister in 2012 for a project done to complete her degree. The project featured photographs of people directly affected by the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988. An oral history interview with Brian Bannister, Emma's father who was one of the first Lockerbie Police Officers on the scene at Sherwood Crescent, may be found in the Story Archives Collection held in the Pan Am 103 Archives.
The Michael Stuart Bernstein Family Papers contains materials relating to Pan Am Flight 103 victim, Michael Bernstein, his wife Stephanie, and their two children, Sara and Joseph.
The Stephen John Boland Family Papers contain Clippings, Correspondence, Photographs, Printed materials, Scrapbooks, Subject files and Writings. The Scrapbooks pertain to the life of Stephen Boland while the rest of the series deal mainly with the aftermath of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103.
