The Keene Valley Archives Manuscript Collection contains personal reminiscences, official correspondence, excerpts from published materials, materials relating to regional and local organizations, biographical information, programs of local presentations and other materials relating to the Keene area. Much of the collection focuses on the mountains in the region, hiking and other outdoor sports as well as hotels and camps of the area.

The Notman Family Collection includes correspondence, photo images, scrapbooks, obituaries and clippings covering one of the early Keene families. George Notman arrived in Keene Valley in the 1870’s. The family has an illustrious history in the Town. Files include materials and correspondence relating to the women’s suffrage movement, as Katharine Notman (Mrs. George) was a staunch supporter of the movement. In addition the collection includes correspondence describing family travels and selected obituaries. The Family was involved in the early days of the Keene Valley Country Club and was involved in the development of the Keene Valley Water Company, the Town water system. Prominent figures include Katharine Notman, George Notman, and Arthur Notman.
