Swift, Isaac, 1845-1937
Isaac Swift (1845-1937); UTS class of 1969; Presbyterian minister in New York and Michigan parishes; served as pastor (later pastor emeritus) in Syracuse, NY, 1878-1929. The collection contains one bound manuscript (310 pages) of lectures Swift attended at Union Theological Seminary, dated September 15, 1866. Lectures by William G. T. Shedd, C. A. Van Dyck, Thomas Skinner, and Albert Barnes.

Taylor, Nathaniel W (Nathaniel William), 1786-1858
Nathaniel William Taylor (1786-1858); Protestant theologian, professor, and founder of the Yale College Theological Department (later Yale Divinity School). The collection contains handwritten lecture notes taken by a student (possibly Joshua Leavitt) in Taylor's courses, as well as one bound manuscript volume of Taylor's "Mental Philosophy."

Collection includes preliminary draft of "Systematic Theology" for private use of students, 1953; "Systematic Theology" pt. 3 and 4, Spring semester, 1952, classroom lectures privately recorded for personal use of Tillich's students by Peter H. John; "History of Christian Thought" : stenographic transcription of lectures delivered during the Spring term, 1953, recorded and edited by Peter H. John and also two sermons added; and copy of "History of Christian Thought" 2nd ed., 1956.

Jackson, Samuel Macauley, 1851-1912
Samuel Macauley Jackson (1851-1912) was a UTS alum of 1873, Presbyterian minister, church historian, and New York University professor. The collection contains notes on the lectures of Roswell Dwight Hitchcock and Henry Boynton Smith taken by Jackson while at Union, as well as translations of the sermons of Swiss thinker Huldrich Zwingli, with additional correspondence of Robert Handy on the index of Jackson's translations.
