The bulk of the collection is material relating to his editing of Coleridge's Table Talk for the Collected Colleridge. There is also material relating to his teaching career, as well as his many professional activities. In addition to the manuscript material, there are 197 books presented to Woodring by former students, faculty members, and others

Dr. Carol H. Meyer taught clinical and advanced social work practice in the School of Social Work (1962-1995). The papers consist primarily of her teaching files, but also include correspondence, papers, speeches, and material related to her research and projects.

Letters donated from the collection of Nina Tannenbaum, and Tiye, Robin, and Duccio Castelli in honor of Professor Peter Pazzaglini, the Columbia Core, and to all of the great teachers who have inspired, illuminated, and enriched their lives. Both letters reflect the efforts of a young writer to be connected to and absorb the advice of eminent Italian writers of his and his family's cultural milieu. One letter from Italo Calvino to Duccio Castelli analyzing the young writer's story, comparing his style to contemporary American writers, such as Raymond Chandler and Damon Runyon, as well as suggesting techniques for incorporating the life and language of Milan into his stories. The second document reflects the connections between Duccio Castelli's mother, a book-seller and figure in the early and mid-century Italian writing and publishing scene, and Salvatore Quasimodo, Nobel Laureate 1959, with whom she shared her son's poetry. The collection contains both original documents as well as Duccio Castelli's translations into English and his account of how he wrote to Italo Calvino and received advice from the renowned writer.

Central Files is composed chiefly of correspondence sent and received between Columbia University administrators and other University officers, faculty, and trustees, as well as correspondence sent and received between University administrators and individuals and organizations from outside the university.

Correspondence and letter books, 1845-1889, of Charlemagne Tower, as well as legal and business papers related to real estate transactions, coal and iron lands in Pennsylvania, and the family affairs of the Tower family.

This collection consists primarily of letters sent to Columbia University President Grayson Kirk following the Board of Trustees' acceptance of the resignation of Assistant Professor Charles Van Doren from the Department of English on November 2, 1959.

The Chen Lifu papers (陳立夫檔案) mainly document his involvement in Chinese politics during the Republican era, dating from 1926 to 1989, with the bulk dates from 1926 to 1951. The papers consist of correspondence, portrait, meeting documents, reports, plans, speeches, writings, memoir, and printed materials. The papers focus on Chen Lifu's political career as the Head of the Central Bureau of Investigation and Statistics and the Minister of Education, as well as his general involvement in politics dating from 1926 to 1949.

The Chinese oral history project collection (中國口述歷史項目檔案) provides a wealth of information on the development of the project and its interviews with eminent Chinese political figures abroad in the United States and Hong Kong from 1958 to 1980s. The highlights of the collection consist of the administrative subject files, correspondence, interview photographs and reports, transcript drafts, collected autobiographies and manuscripts, audio recordings, and card files of names mentioned in the transcripts.

The Chiu Chung-wei correspondence consists of outgoing and incoming letters and telegrams from and to Chiu when he was the Secretary of the President serving under the Acting President, Li Zongren, from 1949 to 1950. Other materials also include newspaper clippings and memoranda.

The Collection on Dr. J. Heng Liu consists of primary and secondary source materials on his medical education abroad and his career at the PUMC as well as other materials relating to medical education in China before and during the Sino-Japanese War, mostly dating from 1922 to 1946. Materials include the oral history interview transcript conducted by the Chinese oral history project, incoming and outgoing correspondence of Dr. Liu, reports on the political situation in China, as well as other articles and publications about the PUMC, western medicine, and medical education in China.
