The Brisbane Family Papers are a collection of documents, mostly correspondence dated 1819-1965, by and about the Brisbane family. The collection has been divided into three sections: items relating to social reformer Albert Brisbane (1809-1890); those of his journalist son, Arthur (1864-1936), and his descendents; and documents pertaining to journalist Elizabeth Cochrane Seaman ("Nellie Bly") (1867-1922).

Harry B. Baker (1868-1941) was an illustrator who taught at the New York School of Fine and Applied Art (which became Parsons School of Design) in the early 20th century. Before moving to New York, Baker traveled the American West. He illustrated bar fights, cowboys, Native Americans, and street scenes. The collection includes photographs of Baker and his students, a letter from Frank Alvah Parsons, and illustrations by Baker.

Primarily original artwork by Russell (particularly his editorial cartoons but also comic strips, sports and entertainment illustrations) and by nearly 100 cartoonists including: Carey Orr, Bill Mauldin, Herblock and Charles Schulz. The collection also includes correspondence; clippings of Russell's work; memorabilia including photographs and biographical information; idea files for specific topics containing clippings and printed material; and writings
