Auricchio, Laura
Laura Auricchio was an art history professor at The New School, 2002-2019, who also served in several administrator roles. This born-digital collection consists of course materials and administrative records from her tenure as a faculty member and administrator, primarily in the roles of chair of humanities for the Schools of Public Engagement and dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies.

Cohen, Marc M.
Michael Kalil (1943-1991) was an interior architect, philosopher, educator and artist, known for his innovative work with new materials and for humanizing digital technologies. From 1981 to 1991, he was the principal of Kalil Designs/Kalil Studio, a firm that specialized in high-profile commercial, prototype and theoretical, and residential design commissions. Kalil also served as an adjunct faculty member at the Parsons School of Design. The collection includes Kalil's personal and professional papers, including original artwork, sketchbooks, journals, photographs, project records, architectural drawings, photoprints and sketches, design prototypes, and posthumous materials.

Choi, Esther
Collection consists of student projects created as a final assignment for Professor Esther Choi's Advanced Research Seminar: Constructed Environments during the fall 2016 semester. All students were undergraduates in The New School's Parsons School of Design, primarily in architecture, interior design, and product design programs. The projects take the form of design manifestoes, combining text, images, and different forms of presentation.

The Parsons School of Design Centenary Oral History Project consists of recorded sound interviews with twelve individuals as well as two audio monologues by the project's manager, Martica Sawin. The interviews, recorded in 1994, cover the history of different academic departments and design disciplines over the course of the twentieth century as experienced by former and then-current instructors and administrators. Recordings are all in English.

This collection consists of publications from Parsons New School of Design and its affiliate programs, including catalogs for overseas schools, and continuing education and AAS programs. Catalogs hold information on school policies and admissions requirements, course descriptions, faculty rosters, and examples of student work. Materials for the years 1896-1912 consists primarily of photocopies of print advertisements for the Chase School of Art.

A collection of approximately thirty discrete audio recordings documenting designer critic sessions in the Fashion Design Department of Parsons School of Design. Designer critics include Parsons School of Design alumni, such as Adri, Jeffrey Banks, Donald Brooks, Louis Dell'Olio, Isaac Mizrahi, Charlotte Neuville, and Tracy Reese, as well as frequent visitors Stan Herman and Gloria Sachs and longtime faculty members Frank Rizzo and Marie Essex. The recordings were made during the fall semesters of 1994 and 1995, averaging eighteen minutes in duration each, resulting in a total of over eight hours of audio.

The Parsons School of Design Master of Arts (MA) Design Studies program was launched in 2012 with the aim of exploring design as "a field of scholarly research and an agent of social change." The program became a minor in 2018. This collection contains student theses from 2014-2018, representing all four graduating classes in the program's history as a major.

Contains 236 posters created for academic departments and administrative offices of Parsons The New School for Design, including promotional posters for summer sessions and study abroad programs, recruiting by specific departments, and publicity for exhibitions, public programs, and internship fairs. With the exception of a 1927 poster advertising a dance, the series does not contain any material created prior to 1956.

This collection consists predominantly of 35 mm slides of work by students in courses that comprised Parsons School of Design's first year program, formerly known as the Foundation Year Program, between 1975 and 2004. Some of the slides are associated with the course in which the work was created: 3D and 2D Design, Drawing Fundamentals, Drawing Concepts, and Digital Design. Also includes some course materials and color photocopies of student work.

Consists of approximately 15,058 slides, primarily 1970s-1990s, documenting Parsons School of Design students and campus life. Many of the slides are images of student work. Other images include exhibitions, award and fashion shows, social events, guest lectures, field trips, and campus construction projects. A collection of 4 x 5 inch color transparencies of work probably created 1970 through 1975 by Parsons School of Design students in the Communication Design, Environmental Design, Fashion Design, Fashion Illustration, General Illustration, and Graphic Design departments, including work that was exhibited in end of year shows and annual Society of Illustrators Scholarship Competitions.

Mounted posters from the exhibition, "Unity and Diversity: a selection of posters from the Communication Design Department at Parsons School of Design," created by junior-year Communication Design students at Parsons. Thirty posters were chosen for the exhibition out of 180 entries submitted to a poster competition held by the Communications Design Department on the theme of "diversity, the underlying theme of the American Republic" in 1994.
