This collection contains original land and military records, correspondence, and other papers that once belonged to Abraham B Hall. The collection covers the Hall family from the 1700s to the 1840s. One folder contains information from GHS research efforts on the family of John Hall; it’s unclear if the two families are related.

This collection contains photographs, catalogs, advertisements and articles from various publications. Also included is correspondence conducted between the Geneva Historical Society and others from the 1960s-2000s, mostly with Eleanor Clise, GHS Archivist. Most Fay & Bowen material comes from after the company moved from Auburn, 1904, until it closed in 1929; a couple of catalogs or copies are included from pre-1904. Also included are FayBow materials from the early 1930s.

This collection consists of material related to Seth Field and Lucy Mix Field who lived in Geneva in the 19th century.

Materials from this collection refer to the buildings on the corner of Milton and Pulteney Streets and the later building on Carter Rd.

There are publications made for the home front and for soldiers, ration books, articles, and photos; documents related to Our Boys Fund and the Geneva City Defense Council.

George Conover was a well-respected historian of the Geneva and Ontario County area. He served as a Geneva Village Trustee and President.

Gladys Gray was a lifelong resident of Geneva and heavily involved with the Geneva Historical Society.

The Gracey family were known for their involvement in the Geneva Daily Times and were heavily involved in civic affairs in Geneva.

The papers of Mr. and Mrs. William Grant and their children.

This collection includes ledgers, articles, and other miscellaneous ephemera related to WW Haviland, his pharmacy, and his other partners. The collection covers 1881-1924, though Haviland dies in 1921 some materials were kept together despite not being related. Staff may decide to split these materials up later on.

The Hemiup family were residents of Geneva from around 1799 to the 1950s.

These materials cover Hobart College, William Smith College, and the combined colleges from the time they were founded through the 21st century.

The Historical Society possesses quite a few pieces of Hotel Seneca that have been left behind including menus, wine lists, pamphlets, a napkin, and even pieces of wallpaper. There is not much material from the days of the Nester Hotel but rather the time period during which the building was Hotel Seneca, 1912-1982.

James P Fulton joined the NYV 126th in 1862 and fought in several battles during the Civil War. He served as Postmaster of Stanley, NY for many years.

Jasena Rappleye Foley was town historian for Onondaga, NY from 1962 to 1984.

John R. Dixon was a Civil War veteran from Naples, New York who lived briefly in Geneva where he had some family.

Joshua Gray was a shoemaker and passed his business onto his son Lyman Gray.

Marian Cruger Coffin was a pioneering landscape architect in the early 1900s. She briefly lived in Geneva and designed at least 2 gardens.
