Earle, Genevieve B.

These papers relate to her governmental activities and provide an important documentary record of her career to 1950. Included are mimeographed and typed copies of minutes of the various committees upon which she served, city bills and other municipal legislation, correspondence, memoranda, notes, etc. Earle family papers have been added. There is also a microfilm copy of Asher William Schwartz's A STUDY OF THE NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL

Mancuso, Sharon

This scrapbook was created by George Aylesworth, a 1911 graduate of Rochester's East High School. The scrapbook documents his graduating class and life in the years following his graduation, including elements of his relationship with his eventual wife, Elsie Duncan. It also includes some material related to his involvement with the Y.M.C.A. as a trainer.; professionally, he made his career as a draftsman. The scrapbook includes many greeting cards, calling cards and photographs. Of note is its documentation of his time in Morristown, New Jersey between 1918 and 1919, which concludes his entries in the scrapbook.

Woods, George D.

Correspondence, speeches, articles, economic data, photographs, scrapbooks, appointment books, telephone logs, memorabilia, and printed materials dealing almost exclusively with Woods' presidency of the World Bank. The papers consist largely of volumes of speeches and articles by Woods, world economic briefs and scrapbooks of clippings and photographs. The collection includes a number of signed and inscribed photographs including Mohammad Ayub Khan, Hassan II of Morocco, Ferdinand E. and Imelda Marcos, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson and Gamal Abdul Nasser. Also in the collection are books from Woods' library, some of them inscribed; printed materials by and about Woods; and silver and other memorabilia.

Sokolsky, George E (George Ephraim), 1893-1962

Manuscripts of Sokolsky, including notes and typescripts for his newspaper columns, magazine articles, radio broadcasts, and for several of his books, including Outlines of Universal History, Tinder Box of Asia, and We Jews. Also, scrapbooks and envelopes of clippings of his newspaper columns and articles; and approximately 1,800 transcriptions of Sokolsky's radio broadcasts.

Handmade scrapbooks of George F. Bowerman covering the periods from when he was in Library School at the NY State Library School (1894-1895)in Albany, his career as Reference Librarian at the Reynolds Library in Rochester (1895-1896) and Librarian to the Wilmington Institute Free Library (1901-1904). Also includes materials from his time as member of the Delaware State Library Commission (1901-1904).

Letters, documents, and printed materials documenting Macy's publishing career, including that relating to the Nonesuch Press, dating from 1941 to 1960. Included also are photographs, awards, and financial papers. The correspondents include many of Macy's close friends including Peter Beilenson, William Rose Benét, Clifton Fadiman, Christopher Fry, Lillian Gish, Alec Guinness, Fritz Kredel, Frederic and Florence March, Francis Meynell, Bruce Rogers, Louis Untermeyer, Carl Van Doren, and Lynd Ward. Also, miscellaneous engravings, lithographs, and drawings.
