The Shih-hui Hsiung (Shihui Xiong) papers consist of materials documenting Hsiung's life and political career from 1907 to 1974. The highlights of the papers are the manuscripts, which include six volumes of Hsiung's memoir, seven volumes of diaries over 43 years, and approximately 440 original handwritten speech scripts. The photographs and political and military affairs related documents focus on Hsiung's active involvement in the northeast region and abroad from 1930 to 1948. The papers overall consist of correspondence, calligraphy scrolls, diaries, a diploma, documents, letter books, manuscripts of published and unpublished works, maps, newspaper clippings, notes, oversize military notices, poems, photographs, photograph albums, reports, and other materials.

Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs and subject files of Witte. The correspondents include Ivan S. Aksakov, Tsar Aleksander III, Tsar Nicholas II, Konstantin P. Pobedonost︠s︡ev, I︠U︡riĭ Samarin, Lev N. Tolstoĭ and Kaiser Wilhelm II. The manuscripts, which constitute over half of the collection, consist of Witte's memoirs and of his work on the Russo-Japanese War, and include a signed typescript essay by Lev N. Tolstoĭ. The photographs depict the signing of the Portsmouth Treaty ending the Russo-Japanese War (Portsmouth, N.H.). The subject files, which are primarily typescript copies of documents, refer to such topics as the various assassination attempts on the tsars, questions of agrarian reform, relations with Germany, and the siege of Port Arthur. There is also a framed pen and ink drawing depicting an event in Witte's public career.

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, subject files, printed materials, and memorabilia of historian George Vernadsky (Georgii Vladimirovich Vernadskii; 1887-1973). Most of the collection consists of his personal and professional papers, circa 1918-1973. Sizable groups of materials also concern members of his family, especially his wife Nina (1884-1971); his father, scientist Vladimir I. Vernadskii (1863-1945); his mother Nataliia E. Vernadskaia (1860-1943); and his sister Nina V. Toll' (1898-circa 1976).

Memoirs of Vasilćhikova. The memoirs include a nineteen-page essay about the Tsarina and a twelve-page essay about Tsar Nicholas II. Both essays are handwritten and in French. Included with the essays are two postcards: one with a photograph of Marii︠a︡ Vasilćhikova and one with a portrait of her.

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs and printed materials of Unkovskiĭ. The correspondence includes letters from such individuals as Emile Baës, Vladimir Burt︠s︡ev, Nikolaĭ Evreĭnov, Galina Kuznet︠s︡ova, Boris Lazarevskiĭ, Alekseĭ Remizov, Ivan Shmelov, Boris Zaĭt︠s︡ev, and Leonid Zurov. Nearly all the manuscripts are by Unkovskiĭ, and include essays, stories, and excerpts from his memoirs, many of which were published in emigre journals. There are a number of scrapbooks containing clippings of his articles. In addition, the collection contains galleys of books by Unkovskiĭ, and copies of some of his full-length works, including "Ikary" (1942) and "Andreĭ Klinskiĭ" (1940).

Typescript memoirs of Totomi︠a︡nt︠s︡. The longest piece "Iz moikh vospominaniĭ" (156 p.), is a copy of Totomi︠a︡nt︠s︡'s memoirs under the same title (Sofia, Bulgaria, 1943). It discusses his studies in Western Europe; his years as a journalist in Russia around the turn of the century; his work with the cooperative movement in Russia and Europe; and his years in emigration after the 1917 revolution. Also included is a short essay entitled "Kooperativnaia poezdka v Rumynii︠u︡" and four other brief pieces on major economists and scholars whom he knew: Werner Sombart, Luigi Luzzatt, Charles Gide, and Aleksandr A. Chuprov. There is a clipping of an article from a French periodical about Totomi︠a︡nt︠s︡.

Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, and printed materials of Toporkov. Much of the collection consists of materials Toporkov collected and used for a three-volume history of the Fifth Hussar Regiment (Pi︠a︡tĭ gusarskiĭ aleksandri ĭskiĭ polk), of which he had been a member. There are also materials concerning members of the regiment who emigrated after the 1917 Revolution. The correspondence (1919-1952) includes letters to and from members of several emigre military organizations. the manuscripts include essays and memoirs about the regiment during World War I and the Civil War (including several by Toporkov himself) as well as Toporkov's three-volume history of his regiment from the eighteenth century through 1929, the regiment museum, individual members of the regiment, regiment celebrations (1926-1935), the Court of Honor, and regiment financial affairs (1925-1948). Among the printed materials are clippings and materials relating to a number of emigre organizations.

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, drawings, sheet-music and printed material of Teffi (Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Lokhvitskaia, married name Buchinskaia; 1872-1952. Тэффи, Надежда Александровна Лохвицкая, в замужестве Бучинская), a Russian émigré writer.

The manuscripts, all of which are by Sobolev, include historical essays, such as "Legenda drevni︠a︡go Novgoroda" and Sobolev's memoirs"Zapiski zhurnalista." Sobolev's memoirs cover his childhood in Novgorod, the 1905 and 1917 Revolutions, World War I (during which Sobolev was active in the Imperial Army) and the Civil War, in which Sobolev participated in White Army campaigns in Onega, Murmansk and Arkhangelśk. Sobolev also discusses a number of newspapers with which he was associated, particularly "Novoe vremi︠a︡" "Russkoe slovo" and "Birzhevye vedomosti." The printed materials consist of a few newspaper clippings.

The collection contains Simonovich's correspondence, manuscripts, doucments, subject files, and printed materials. There are letters to Simonovich from a friend who had settled in Yugoslavia, A. S. Poplavskiĭ, and Belgian postcards from before World War I. Manuscripts deal with Simonovich's experiences in the Imperial army on the Caucasian front and in the White army under general Slashchev. There are also essays devoted to the Russian emigre colonies in Belgium and in France. The subject files concern the Belgian section of the Gallipolian Society (Obʺshchestvo Gallipolit︠s︡ev) and Russian emigre events in Belgium. The printed materials include chiefly miscellaneous journals and clippings, some with articles by Simonovich.
