Gasler, Aleksandr Nikolaevich, 1880-approximately 1965

The collection consists primarily of Gasler's 26-part manuscript memoirs (ca. 1,350 p.), which discuss his family, his military career, World War I, the emigration in France, and interwar Latvia. The collection also includes Gasler's service record and passport, several postcards, and several clippings.

Maslovskīĭ, E. V. (Evgenīĭ Vasilʹevich), 1877-approximately 1965

The papers of Maslovskiĭ consist of correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, and subject files. Among the correspondents are Mark Aldanov, General Nikolaĭ I︠U︡denich, and many former Russian officers. Manuscripts consist largely of Maslovskiĭ's bound typescript memoirs"Nekotorye stranit︠s︡y moeĭ zhizni" (ca. 2,200 p.); the manuscript version of the first six volumes of the memoirs is also included, as is a memoir about his service in Persia in 1909-1914. Subject files include correspondence, manuscripts, and printed materials about his research on World War I, his book, General I︠U︡denich, and other topics.

Boi︠a︡rint︠s︡ev, Mitrofan Ivanovich, 1894-1971

The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, and printed materials. Most of the correspondence dates from the 1950s and early 1960s, when Boi︠a︡rint︠s︡ev was head of the Ob'edinenie chinov Kornilovskago udarnago polka, an emigre veterans' organization, and relates to the affairs of this and similar groups. The manuscripts include campaign memoirs and a memoir called, "Epokha 1937-1965 gg." dealingwith events in the world of the White veteran's groups written by Boi︠a︡rint︠s︡ev; and a memoir of the First World War by a Captain I︠A︡. G. Shinin. Official documents relating to the military service of both Boi︠a︡rint︠s︡ev and Shinin are found in the collection, as well as some regimental and army orders of the Revolution-Civil War period. There is a photograph of Genral L.G. Kornilov; a large number of photographs of the White Army encampment at Gallipoli, of the Imperial family, White officers' reunions, funerals, dedication ceremonies etc. Printed materials include: a folder of printed engravings of varied content (portraits of the Imperial family, White officers, members of the White Russian community in Shanghai; and illustrations of various incidents in the Civil War; a complete set through 1965 of the emigre newsletter "Kornilovt︠s︡y" (Nos. 1-6; 1952_65); 7 issues of the "Vestnik pervopokhodnika" (Nos. 82-91; Aug. '68-May '70); and books, pamphlets, and jubilee volumes concerning Tsar Nicholas II, the White movement, General Kornilov, and the Mladorossy.

Shebeko, Nikolaĭ Nikolaevich

The collection consists of correspondence, manuscripts, documents, subject files and printed materials. Although most of the correspondence is among family members (from 1921 to 1946), there are three folders of letters concerning the publication of Shebeko's memoirs. The manuscripts include Shebeko's diary from 1918-1919 as well as English, French and Russian versions of his memoirs which were published in French in 1936: "Souvenirs -- Essai historique sur les origines de la guerre de 1914." There are documents relating to rentals, mortgages and repairs of the Shebeko's homes, estates and apartments, primarily dating from 1910-1914. The subject files include Shebeko's reports on the Balkan situation in 1913 and 1914 and the Russkiĭ soedinennyi klub in Paris. Among the printed materials are clippings and a copy of the published version of Shebko's memoirs.

Simonovich, Sergeĭ Vsevolodovich

The collection contains Simonovich's correspondence, manuscripts, doucments, subject files, and printed materials. There are letters to Simonovich from a friend who had settled in Yugoslavia, A. S. Poplavskiĭ, and Belgian postcards from before World War I. Manuscripts deal with Simonovich's experiences in the Imperial army on the Caucasian front and in the White army under general Slashchev. There are also essays devoted to the Russian emigre colonies in Belgium and in France. The subject files concern the Belgian section of the Gallipolian Society (Obʺshchestvo Gallipolit︠s︡ev) and Russian emigre events in Belgium. The printed materials include chiefly miscellaneous journals and clippings, some with articles by Simonovich.

Smirnov, Vladimir Nikolaevich

The collection consists of manuscripts, photographic postcards and a copy of "Russkie otri︠a︡dy na frant︠s︡uzskom i makedonskom frontakh, 1916-1918 gg." by I︠U︡. N. Danilov (Paris, 1933). The manuscripts--both by Smirnov--are Smirnov's memoirs dealing with the Russian expeditionary force on the Salonika front in World War I (parts of which were published in "Vozrozhdenie" 1959) and "Vernye dolgu" about the Russian legion in France in 1918. The five photographic postcards concern the Russian expeditionary force and the Russian military cemetery at Saint-Hilaire-le-Grand.

Khoromanskiĭ, Vladimir Venediktovich, b. 1889

Khoromanskiĭ's manuscripts and memoirs concern such topics as his childhood and his father's work as an official in Saratov; World War I; White attempts to combat Makhno's forces; and Russian refugees on Malta and Capri. There is a subject file on the Russkoe Trudovoe Khristi︠a︡nskoe Dvizhenie, and a photograph of Petr Stolypin in 1904. Printed materials include a decree by the Ukrainian government in 1918 and several by the White army in Elisavetgrad and Ekaterinoslav in 1919. In addition, there are the memoirs of Khoromanskiĭ's father, Venedikt M. Khoromanskiĭ, concerning 1918-22.
