The Mappa Papers include 47 letters, 1778-1833 and undated, the majority being for the period 1789-1795. Almost all are in Dutch, with the rest in French. The correspondence is both personal, and pertaining to the business of the Holland Land Co., particularly in the Boonville and Oldenbarneveldt (Trenton) areas of Oneida County, N. Y.

Correspondence and letter books, 1845-1889, of Charlemagne Tower, as well as legal and business papers related to real estate transactions, coal and iron lands in Pennsylvania, and the family affairs of the Tower family.

The George J. Skivington Collection consists of business papers of John Greig of Canandaigua, agent for William Hornby and other landowners in western and central New York. The land papers include deeds, contracts, surveys, maps, depositions in chancery case regarding title of Pulteney Estate, 1820-21, schedules of debtors, 1841-42, and Greig estate inventories and papers. There is also correspondence, including letters from Oliver Phelps, Israel Chapin, Robert Troup, William H. Adam, Joseph Fellows, Alexander Duncan, Alonzo Frost, Nathaniel W. Howell, Thomas Morris, John Rankine, William Jeffrey, John Tryon, Francis H. Beckwith, Josephine Greig Chappell, Lockwood R. Doty, and D.D.S. Brown, a paymaster in the U.S. Army, Civil War. Topics in the correspondence include lands in the Chenango Triangle, Military Tract, Cottringer Tract, Greig Tract at Rochester; Morrisville Tract at Philadelphia; and the Phelps and Gorham Purchase. There is also information about early Rochester railroads, the Sodus Canal Association, Sodus Land Company, the Shaker colony and Fourierite Phalanx at Sodus Bay, and the Ontario Glass Manufacturing Company at Geneva.

The Lyman Stuart Papers includes miscellaneous legal documents of Ebenezer Cook, an early settler In Penfield, NY and his heirs, and Joseph Ketcham of Perinton, NY. It chiefly contains deeds and mortgages for land in Monroe County, NY, especially Penfield and Webster.

The Teunis G. Bergen and Bergen family collection comprises the papers of Teunis G. Bergen (1806-1881), as well as the papers of other Bergen family and extended family members. Materials in the collection span the years 1639 to 1893, and primarily document Bergen's role as a major civic and community figure in Brooklyn, as well as his family's history. In addition to his work as a farmer and surveyor, Teunis G. Bergen served on the Kings County Board of Supervisors as Supervisor of New Utrecht, NY, and in 1864, he was elected to the United States House of Representatives as a Democrat to the Thirty-ninth Congress. He was also known for his expertise in genealogy and local history, and published several articles and books on these topics. Highlights of the collection include maps, surveys, and map tracings of various Brooklyn locales drafted by Bergen; extensive materials pertaining to Bergen's research and publishing on local history and genealogy; and research materials on Bergen family genealogy.
