Pleshcheev, Aleksandr, 1858-1944

The collection consists of correspondence from such ballet and theater personalities as Sergeĭ Khudi︠a︡kov, Sergeĭ Lifar,́ Nadezhda Nikolaeva-Legat, Alekander Sanin and Vera Trefilova. There is also one letter each from Zinaida Gippi︠u︡s, Nadezhda Teffi, Boris Zaĭt︠s︡ev and Vladimir Zeeler. In addition, there are several typed manuscripts by Pleshcheev, including his book-length biography of E.N. Roschina-Insarova, and clippings of newspaper articles by Pleshcheev.

Zaĭt︠s︡ev, Boris, 1881-1972

Correspondence and manuscripts of Zaĭt︠s︡ev. This collection covers from the 1920's into the 1960's. There is correspondence from many other emigre writers. The largest groups of cataloged letters are by Mark Aldanov (105 items), Ivan Bunin (161), Archimandrite Kiprian (104), Alekseĭ Remizov (48), and Nadezhda Teffi (101). There are also items by Boris Bugaev (Andreĭ Belyĭ), Vi︠a︡cheslav Ivanov, Vladislav Khodasevich, Sergeĭ Lifaŕ and Boris Pasternak. Zaĭt︠s︡ev's manuscripts in the collection include some of his major works, such as "Puteshestvie Gleba" "Dom v Passi" "Zhizn ́Turgeneva" and "Zhukovskiĭ". In addition, the collection has a book and a pamphlet, both inscribed by Zaĭt︠s︡ev.

The collection includes correspondence from Konstantin Balḿont, Nikolaĭ Evreĭnov, Zinaida Gippius, Georgiĭ Grebenshchikov, Vasiliĭ Maklakov, Sergeĭ Potresov and Nadezhda Teffi. There is one letter each from Boris Bakhmeteff, Vera Bunina, Aleksandr Grechaninov, Aleksandr Kuprin and Alekseĭ Tolstoĭ. The manuscripts include poems and a play scenario by Nadezhda Teffi as well as Roshchina-Insarova's autobiographical essays and article about Sergeĭ Lifar.́ In addition, there are three scrapbooks containing clippings and programs of Roshchina-Insarova's performances, and approximately 40 photographs of her.

Evreinov, N. N. (Nikolaĭ Nikolaevich), 1879-1953

The papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, subject files, financial records, photographs, and printed materials. Among the correspondents are Ivan Bilibin, David Burli︠u︡k, Franz Theodor Csokor, Vasiliĭ Kamenskiĭ, and Percival Wilde; there is one item each from Jean Anouilh, Collete, Mikhail Fokine, Vasiliĭ Kandinskiĭ, Vladislav Khodasevich, Pavel Mili︠u︡kov, and Dmitriĭ Merezhovskiĭ. Most of the manuscripts are by Evangulov and Nadezhda Teffi, and memoirs by Evreĭnov's wife, Anna Aleksandrovna, on such topics as her career in the emigration from 1925. There are photographs of Evreĭnov, Nikolaĭ Rimskiĭ-Korsakov, and Vasiliĭ Kamenskiĭ. This collection is almost entirely concerned with the emigration.

Soi︠u︡z russkikh pisateleĭ i zhurnalistov v Parizhe

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, organizational records, and accounts of the Soi︠u︡z Russkikh Pisateleĭ i Zhurnalistov v Parizhe (Union of Russian Writers and Journalists in Paris). The correspondence (ca. 1920-1951) primarily deals with organizational subsidies and events, and includes letters from such writers as Mark Aldanov, Ivan Bunin, Mikhail Fedorov, Mikhail Osorgin, Alekseĭ Remizov, Nadezhda Teffi, Marina T︠S︡vetaeva and Boris Zaĭt︠s︡ev (the president of the organization) among others. There are manuscripts by Vladimir Zeeler and Sofii︠a︡ Anichkova-Taube as well as photographs of several members of the organization. The financial records include receipts for subsidies and general financial statements covering the 1920-1950 period. The organizational records concern Union balls, publications, and other activities. There are also folders of miscellaneous notes and clippings.

Vereshchagin, Vladimir, 1888-

Correspondence and memoirs of Vereshchagin. Correspondence includes letters from a number of major emigre cultural figures, such as Ivan Bunin, Matild́a Ksheshinskai︠a︡, Vasiliĭ Nemirovich-Danchenko; there are also poems by Nemirovich-Danchenko and by Nadezhda Teffi. In addition, there are letters by members of the Imperial family in exile, particularly Grand Prince Vladimir Kirillovich. Vereshchagin's memoirs touch on such subjects as his childhood and family, the Imperial Corps of Pages, cultural life in St. Petersburg and Petrograd, and the early 1920's in Petrograd and Moscow. In addition, there is a pamphlet of poems by Vereshchagin"Stikhi" (1955).
