The Foundation's correspondence files consist of letters from different organizations and foundations, including the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Social Change, The NAACP, the United Negro College Fund, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and the YWCA. Also included in this collection are community dialogues on race relations (1974-1975); proposed dialogues (1979) on such subjects as the Boy Scouts of America, Columbia University, and the National Council of Christians and Jews; and files on the Whitney M. Young Fellows Retreat Conferences (1980-1984). The collection contains many files on Ed Wilson's bust of Young (1991), including contracts and agreements, records of payments to Wilson, documents concerning the bust's placement in various locations, correspondence with Wilson (1983-1991), and miscellaneous photographs and pictures. The contributions files contain annual listings of contributions and records of contributions from the National Urban League, assorted organizations, corporations, individuals, foundations, and Philip Morris.
The Willard L. Severinghaus Papers include the personal and professional papers of Columbia University Physics professor Willard Lesly Severinghaus, as well as a small amount of material related to the extended Severinghaus family. There are also record books from the Terre Haute, Indiana German Methodist Episcopal Church where Severinghaus's father, John F. Severinghaus, was pastor.
Correspondence and miscellaneous items of Keener. The correspondence dates primarily from the years 1894 and 1895, and concerns mostly admissions and other procedures of the Law School. There is one letter book of outgoing correspondence, 1891-1895. The collection includes cataloged letters from Nicholas Murray Butler, Melvil Dewey, Seth Low, and Edwin R.A. Seligman.

The collection also includes manuscript notes for lectures, articles, reviews, books, and chapters by Dunning. Prof. Greet has presented Columbia with a collection of letters which he has received from numerous authors, including John Mason Brown, John Cheever, John Dos Passos, Marianne Moore, and 27 from H.L. Mencken. Of special interest is a notebook of letters concerning Greet's dictionary, WORLD WORDS, puiblished in 1944 by CBS as an aid in the understanding and pronunciation of new and foreign words. The notebook contains letters from Henry A. Wallace, George Marshall, Cordell Hull, J. Edgar Hoover, and more than 50 other public officials
