This is an artificial collection brought together by the staff at the SSPL combining several donations from a variety of sources, most unknown. The single box is arranged by series and contains documents and images regarding the Carpenter Family.

Biographical / Historical:

Rev. George Wayland Carpenter was a native Saratogian, and a graduate of Saratoga High School. He received a BS degree from Union College in civil engineering and Divinity degrees from Rochester Theological Seminary and Yale. He and his wife, Isabel Frances West, were dedicated Christian missionaries who spent their lives serving in the Belgian Congo..
