Biographical / Historical:

The Bradshaw Printing Company was housed beneath the Saratogian building, facing Lake Ave. The hotel began as a boarding house, built by Gideon Putnam in 1802, but grew into the world's largest hotel, before it was demolished in 1953.

At one point, the hotel was leased and managed by W. Edgar Woolley, a hotelier with properties in New York City and Paris and the father of actor, Edgar Montillion “Monty” Woolley. Joseph Landry was a private chauffeur who worked for Mr. Woolley and was the father of the donor, Gene Landry.
