- Scope and Content:
The collection includes articles on the diagnosis and treatments of pulmonary conditions as related to the use of hydrotherapy and balneology. In addition, as a member of the International society of Medical Hydrology and the American Balneology Society, his papers include membership lists and reports of congresses held at the Spa. The original papers have been photocopied. There are no restrictions on the collection but the use of the photocopies is preferred.
- Biographical / Historical:
Dr. Moses Weiss was born in Tiszaszaszfalu, Hungary, (later Sasfalic, Czechoslovakia 1918-1993 now Сасове (Szaszove / Sasove, Slovak Sásfala), Ukraine) in February 1902. He practiced medicine in Carlsbad during 1925-26 and immigrated to New York City in 1934. While maintaining an active practice in pulmonary medicine in New York city, he began to summer in Saratoga Springs, NY, eventually practicing at the Saratoga Spa. Dr. Weiss passed away in 1943.
