Scope and Content:

The collection consists of lectures, correspondence, working papers, publications, sermons, liturgies, professional awards and other related materials from the files of Ada María Isasi-Díaz. The materials in this collection span much of her professional career as an activist and theologian. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence and publications from her work with women's organizations, manuscripts of lectures and articles, syllabi and teaching notes and conference materials. Also included are personal correspondence, audio- and videotapes, and clippings from magazines and newspapers.

Biographical / Historical:

Ada María Isasi-Díaz is an activist, theologian and Professor of Ethics and Theology at Drew University.

RESTRICTIONS:

Collection open for research by appointment. The archival records of living alumni are covered by FERPA and privacy legislation and are closed to research for a significant time period. Student papers in Series 7A are therefore Restricted and are marked as such in the Contents list to this Finding Aid. Where 75 or more years have passed since student attendance at UTS or other educational institutions, records can be released for consultation, according to the Burke Library archives policy, upon request to the archivist at archives@uts.columbia.edu. All documents in Series 6 Sister Fund are also Restricted until January 1, 2032. The remainder of the collection is unrestricted.
