The Pringle Symonds Photograph Collection is comprise of loose photographs and scrapbooks of the Burden, Ledyard, and Krumbhaar Family. From this collection, it's assumed that the Burden Family were close friends with the Ledyard's, although, little is known about the relationship.

Background

Scope and Content:

The Pringle Symonds Photograph Collection contains loos photographs and scrapbooks of Cazenovia winter scenes, family outings, and trips taken with the Burden and Ledyard Family.

One of the scrapbooks in the collection is a scrapbook titled, "Howe Wee Spente 4th Ye Ov Julie!" shot and bound by Marshall Photography, the local photographer of Cazenovia. All other scrapbooks were compiled by an individual. The other scrapbooks are of a trip to Italy and scenes of Cazenovia ranging from the 1920s-1940s.

Acquisition information:
The Pringle Symonds collection was donated by Mary Pringle Symonds of Cazenovia, New York on November 19th, 2009.
Processing information:

The Pringle Symonds Collection was processed by Lucy Bell for the 2021/2022 grant funded project from the New York State Parks and Recreation Department to create and publish finding aids for the archives of the Lorenzo State Historic Site.

Arrangement:

The Pringle Symonds Photograph Collection has one series and one subseries: I. Photographs; Ia. Scrapbooks. This collection is arranged chronologically by decade.

The Pringle Symonds Photograph Collection is open for public research. The Lorenzo State Historic Site archives are open to researchers by appointment only. Please call 315-655-3200 to set up your appointment.
